Oh it would, it really would. Look up shadowrun. This is another of the topics that has been endlessly debated, and probably has spawned quite a lot of probations/bans. And probably will in this thread too.captaincabbage said:Maybe, but if you own the console and the game, you should be pretty damn efficient with that controller, so I don't think it would matter at all.JourneyThroughHell said:Eh. I don't know. I think that it's really about the controllers and I think that some controllers might be better suited for a certain game than others - giving some players a disadvantage.
But, hey, it's an alright idea - just not something console developers would want to do.
I'll say just that while I dont think there is any difference in the intelligence between a console gamer and a PC gamer (I have all platforms; owned an xbox360 which rroded, I have a ps3 and I have a PC), there can be little doubt that certain gametypes are very much favorable to play with certain controllers.
If you have another opinion I can only conclude that you have played too little on one of the platforms to know what you are talking about. And let me expressly say that I do not mean to be disrespectful or flame or anything of the sort. And I prematurely apologize if you take offense, that is not my intention. I simply cannot see how it is possible to come to another conclusion.

Thanks for posting my usual answer in a more articulate wayusucdik said:The major problem you purposefully overlook, and what makes you what they say you are, is that you are willing to settle with crappy controls for games that require something better. The degree of speed capable from the peripherals is almost a negligible factor. Using an analog stick means a huge degradation in fine control, and that is before you incorporate how loose and crappy the current implementations are.cricketlenny said:true, but if there was a leader board based on what platform your on, and see which platform has the best players, you could settle the console wars a little more quickly. And PC gamers, the reason your "better" is because you have a mouse. if you turn down its speed to match our controlers, and then you beat us, youll have the proof you need. but untill that happens, just keep those comments about us "consoletards" to yourself.
The game developers even have to compensate for how inaccurate the controller is by making the game easier or adding features like aim-assist because it is often impossible to move any less than 10 pixels at a time. Since the mouse has an infinite plane of movement, it is easy to point where you want and when. The analog stick just keep going as long as you press it, so you have to fumble around the dead spot in the center to really aim precisely on anything not 5 virtual feet wide. It really shouldn't be that much of a mystery why console'people' are put down for their gaming habits and also the repercussions thereof.
