It is yet another case of parental responsibility. Who is supposed to be RAISING these children? Fun fact: it's not the government, it's not the police.

And yeah, I agree with the people who said security cameras mean nothing. Security cameras are watching me in situations where PEOPLE are watching me, therefore they are MEANINGLESS. I don't complain when I'm in public and someone with an unusually good memory looks at me directly.

From Wikipedia:
Curfew law in the United States is usually a matter of state law, rather than federal law. However, the Constitution guarantees certain rights, which have been applied to the states through the 14th Amendment. Hence, any state's curfew law may be overruled and struck down if, for example, it violates the teen's 1st, 4th or 14th Amendment rights (or the parent's 9th Amendment right to privacy in parenting). Nonetheless, curfews are set by state and local governments. They vary by state and even by county or municipality. In some cities there are curfews for persons under the age of 18.

United Kingdom:
The United Kingdom's 2003 Anti-Social Behaviour Act created zones that allow police from 9 PM to 6 AM to hold and escort home unaccompanied minors under the age of 16, whether badly behaved or not. Although hailed as a success, the High Court ruled in one particular case that the law did not give the police a power of arrest, and officers could not force someone to come with them. The ruling is being appealed by the Home Office.

There's also information for Denmark and Iceland if it's really that big of a deal to you.

I've never in my life had to deal with any sort of curfew except for my parents' one. The only places that take them seriously are mega-rich suburbs where the police have nothing better to do.

I'm sorry, what kind of nanny police country of hell do you live in that the government has ANYTHING to day about when you go out? Are you serious? Do you guys not have... like, parents or something?

That makes the Sims make more sense, at least. Wow.

Seriously, you're legally not allowed outside at night? You're NOT MAKING THIS UP?
Some states or cities might do it if they notice that crime or anything else gets a little TOO high during certain hours. I'm not talking murder and stuff. I mean disturbing the peace and all that.

My friend came frm a small town in northern-ish quebec and all they had to do at night was party, so you had alot of people at night wandering the streets making all kinds of noise. They tried to put a curfew in place, but no one was learning from it, the teenagers just got tons of bills and they never paid them off, it all just turned into a huge mess

There's a 10pm noise curfew where I live, but never has there been an actual curfew for people.

Don't see why there would be one, either...
