He was funny when I first saw/heard him, but he's become increasingly less likely to do/say something funny. I'd classify him as a "Hit or Miss" with his stand-up, and I didn't care for his movies.

He's a joke theif who has stolen material from many other comedians (Louis C.K. and Demitri Martin) who has a team of lawyers who actively prosecute anyone he feels might have been "influenced" at all by his material. He's probably the biggest asshole, hypocrite, comedian in the business, and just about every other comedian dislikes him.

On top of that, his jokes aren't even that good, and he screws up the jokes he steals. I'm not sick of him because I never liked him. Dane Cook can go to hell.

Dane Cook is horrifically bad.

Sometimes when I hear him tell "jokes" I start to empathise with torture victims.

Good comedians are George Carlin, Mitch Hedburg, Demitri Martin, and Richard Pryor.
Oh, god, I couldn't agree more. Carlin and Pryor are classics! I also have to add in there Eddie Murphy. In his younger days, he was phenomenal doing stand-up. Same goes for Bill Cosby. A little more wholesome, but his jokes were always intricate and intelligent.

Dane Cook can only wish he was as talented as any of those guys. What is the big deal about him anyway? For the life of me, I cannot understand why he is seen as funny by so many people. Must be for the audience with IQ's smaller than their shoe sizes.
sweet....
I bet half of them don't know he stole a joke from demitri martin. You know, the one about the wrong shoe size?

Biggest problems with him is that he moves way too much, and that he drags on jokes for too long. Otherwise, I dont think he's as bad as people make him out to be, although its 100% true that he's overrated.

So weird this came up after I finished watching Vicious circle. His stand up made me lawl a bit here and there.

I wouldn't watch it again though.

Where is the "I hate him, I hate him, I hate him with the burning hatred of a thousand suns!" option?

How is it that you keep posting my opinion before I have the chance to do so?

Too many sex jokes for my taste, but some of his others are good. Overall, just a bit better then average. He is not as good as Blue Collar or Jim Gaffigan.

He was mediocre at first, but then I dated a girl who I think must've listened to every one of his CD's at least once a day, and he became one of the most annoying entities on the face of the planet.

He has two different appeal factors.
1. He's a bit of eye candy for the ladies (or men). Easy on the eye, if nothing else.
2. He appeals to the "Lowest Common Denominator" or the "Everyman", flailing himself around like Jim Carrey used to, shouting much like a Brian Regan, and delivering jokes, sometimes verbatim a la George Carlin.

Mind you, everything is copied nowadays, but I've always disliked Dane Cook.

I used to watch him when no one really knew who he was. I had his CD but when he gained in popularity, his jokes started to suck. Now though, I can't really stand him.

I have honestly tried, I really have.

I sat through his stand up routine and didn't even so much as smile. I love stand up comedy but he's a talentless hack on par with Carlos Mencia.
