Hit and miss sums it up perfectly.
For the most part, he's just loud and annoying.
Other times, he actually does come up with something amusing.

I assume the Dane Cook experience relies more on actually being there.

To me, it is incomprehensible how anybody with enough evolutionary development to have convoluted brain surfaces finds Dane Cook funny. Whenever Comedy Central is on the same portion of channels on my menu as Sci-Fi is, and I see Dane Cook's name, revulsion builds within my stomach as black tears begin to run from what I believe was once my ability to be entertained by shitty jokes.

You all realize that humor is not a measurement.... there is no response that is fact.

whether he is funny or not is all in the eye of the beholder.

I don't mind Dane Cook, in small doses. The one movie of his I've seen (Employee of the Month) had its moments but wasn't great.

I don't really understand why people hate him, but they do. And I think this is why a bunch of other comedians have started stealing his jokes... if you call them out on it you're admitting you've heard Dane Cook tell the joke.

Oh well. He's rich and famous, we're not. He really doesn't care how much we/you/I hate/like him.

His comedic stylings are sub-par, but I haven't yet encountered a woman who wouldn't jump his bones given the chance, so for that he gets some props. I'm sure his acting will improve in time.

Sounds like Ron White's "Can't Fix Stupid" DVD. Damn shame that one was.

I used to find Dane Cook funny, back before he was immensely popular. However, as his popularity increased, his quality began to diminish, eventually to a point where I was with a group of friends at school when one of them just started shouting, and everyone but me laughed. They looked at me as if I had some infectious disease for not finding Dane funny. So a few weeks later I just jumped up and started running around and yelling. They thought it was hilarious until I told them I just did that off the top of my head. A couple of them realize what this meant about Dane, but there was one of them who actually said "I can't not like him because he is popular." But that's another story for a different thread.
