Where's a "yes" poll option? I thought it was funny and I will continue to watch Tosh.0 and any future comedy specials involving Daniel Tosh.
Just as I'll continue to post, retweet, and tweet this story to everyone I can until Tosh either apologizes or suffers monetary losses as the result of people no longer wishing to support him by consuming his product.
Glad to see that you'll stand behind a guy that thinks gang rape is funny.
Good luck with that dude, he's made far worse jokes on his weekly show and his reputation as a comic is to be just as brazenly offensive as he was in this instance. If the show was that offensive to the woman she should have got up and left instead of interrupting it and making a scene. He's a comedian, he's not up there giving a political speech or something that requires he be nice to people that boo him or heckle him from the audience.

Well, did this story ever get big quick... HuffPo and Think Progress in a very short time!
What are those two things, I've never heard of them. Considering that I can't find anything about this on major news outlets and that I heard about this from your forum post I'd wager it's not a very big deal to anyone outside of the small group of people who are going to treat this like some kind of Nazi assault on women. He'll lose nothing from this, if anything he might take the opportunity to mercilessly insult both the woman and whoever sides with her during a Tosh.0 taping

I surely don't have any pity for her. She couldn't keep her trap shut during his performance and hecklers deserve to be shut down in the most brutal verbal fashion possible.

I find it funny that Daniel Tosh turned on her like that, the theme of the joke wasn't too funny but I found it worth a smirky smile :).

He obviously doesn't think rape is funny, he's not a moron. (kinda one of the main points of a joke really...IMO)

It would be so funny if a big black man de-pants Daniel and butt sexed him in front of everyone right? AHAHAHA! I am so funny! What's the deal with all them niggers... ! HAHAHA!

That is pretty true with most American stand-up that I have seen. Just vulgar nonsense. Rape jokes are funny until it happens to your mother/sister/girlfriend. If you have to go for racial slurs or physical threats to shut down a heckler then you are not a very good show-person.

You people want to see REAL stand up? ---> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WYBWA7wX_LM
That's real stand up!

CAPTCHA: Trick or treat? Women should be asked rape or battery? Am I right? lol! [/comedy]

Well Daniel Tosh's main category of comedy is dark humor. Sometimes it delves into incredibly dark areas. Being offended at what he does is like being offended at Lisa Lampanelli for calling any man that looks even slightly effeminate a ******.

Its just what they do.
... Dark Humor is usually about morbid things.. not rape. And even if it was about rape... it would be actually mature and humorous... the way he talks seems like he was an idiot talking to the ghetto.

It's all about timing. And maaaaaan, that is a pretty bold statement about REAL stand up. Watched the vids, I don't get a lot of it (probably lost in translation). I like Demitri Martin a lot, but would never call it the REAL stand up :)

Rape jokes are morbid though.

Merriam-Webster said:
morbidity: an abnormally gloomy or unhealthy state of mind
If it was mature or humorous is down to individual tastes, upon which I cannot comment
Except, morbidity by that definition has nothing to do with rape then.

In any case, maturity isn't subjective by its actual form and definition, and what he did was immature.. in entirety.

You know in my opinion, it is very easy to make someone laugh with a risque or possibly offensive joke but much harder and the payoff much more enjoyable when the mere act or describing your day to day troubles becomes hilarious thanks to quick wit and presentation.

I do like some american stand up. Dave Chapelle (who unfortunately made very bad rape joke) and Russel Peters come to mind. But I enjoy guys like Hugh Dennis and Russel Howard a lot more.

Sure, if you like absolutely banal and tasteless humor that has NO wit or spice.

Fucking hell, there's a petition to get Tosh off the air, permanently. Courtesy of change.org

I am... displeased. I'd better be on the lookout. Might need to create an opposing petition if that thing reached 10,000.

Wait, The Aristocrats joke often prominently features rape... So, thats not okay.

@ Buretsu & Korne - LOL! Good ones! See, people, funny!

I have an idea, lets just ban ALL jokes, so that NOBODY gets offended.

Yeah. Pretty much this.

In case you're not familiar with Daniel Tosh's work...

He's not exactly politically correct.

I get that rape and gender politics have become a hot topic for the general community lately, but it's not unacceptable to crack a bit of dark humor, even if it might be in poor taste.
agreed.

Honestly, why is this even an issue. The real issue here is that people putting up useless polls that leaves no room for any intelligent conversation. Thanks for wasting everyone's time OP.

Joke about whatever you want. If you're not comfortable hearing it, just leave. Let everyone else enjoy their rape, Holocaust, dead babies, genocide, animal cruelty, sacrilegious jokes. Yes, they are bad, nobody needs some self-righteous jerk to remind them that. Also, biased poll is biased.

A generalized joke about rape when he is well known for humor with that kind of darkness? That's acceptable in the space of comedy. His jokes are fine.

But taking a uncomfortable woman who is validly offended if out of place in her offense, and singling her out, specifically by implying that a specific person who is right there and uncomfortable should actually be raped? That's no longer pushing boundaries. That's being a Dick. There were much better responses availible.
