Your title is slanderous he didn't threaten anyone.

Anyway there is no video of this and all we have to go on is a blogger. The owner of the comedy club has a different account of what happened so we really should just treat this as a rumor.
Why, Daniel Tosh seems to have (tacitly) admitted that this is what happened, no?

Lisa Lampanelli does the same shit as Tosh, SOME TIMES EVEN WORSE, BUT SHER NEVER MEANS IT AND NEITHER DOES HE.
Lisa is a woman, however, so their not gonna call her on it because their new age feminists, and they believe women have the right to do anything they wish and say anything they wish.
Not with the the minority rights groups.

The NAACP kinda trumps feminism. It just does.
NAACP has its moments of stupidity, but I respect what they do. Feminists, like the one that made this post, are not respectable, intelligent, or helpful to society.

Why do I get the feeling that Feminists = "someone who doesn't agree with me that teh womminz and minorities are ruining blahblah* "

Sure is getting awful circle jerky in here, hope someone brought a mop & bucket.

*translation, all this having to think about other people as if they are living thinking beings rather than meat puppets for my entertainment makes me uncomfortable.

That's a mighty fine straw man you got there.
Nah, its only a straw man if I am expecting someone to actually debate it, no?

'sides its my honest observation of the last few pages here.

The idea of BRONIES defending the use of gang rape joke to shut up a woman who had a legit complaint is almost as shocking as when I found out that there were Nazi bronies...
Oh god the pain...
Don't drag the entire fandom through the mud because you personally are offended.

If you wanted to state your opinion about Daniel Tosh, you already have. That's fine. But to act like your word is gospel is wrong.

Of course the act of rape itself isn't funny. No one here would ever say that. But there have been jokes about the IDEA of rape itself that were funny, because they point out how idiotic and stupid it is for men (and women, because there have been male rape victims) to even have these thoughts. They take it to the extreme to show how bad it really is for someone to want to do that.

That said, I didn't find Tosh's heckling to be funny. Not because of the rape thing, just the way he delivered it.

I find this relevant...

Seriously... it was a joke... and in fact her post has since been debunked, Tosh said something along the lines of, "She was probably raped by 5 guys." not threatening rape... not that he was to begin with... get over it... it's not a big deal... in the slightest...

TheAmazingAthesist came out with this video today, though I don't agree with a lot of his opinions I do agree with him on this.

Regarding the Daniel Tosh thing I think there was just a misunderstanding and a lack of manners.

Ok sorry! Jesus dude have a sense of humor. I was joking but whatever I have gay friends and we call each other fags all the time. my best friends Jenn and Chelsea are a lesbian couple for Christs sake I'm going to see them this weekend! I also used to be engaged to a girl who was black and mexican (I'm white) and she is by far the only girl I ever loved of all the relationships I've pursued. She is definitely my soulmate, wherever she is, so please don't throw racism at me.

Did you know that the entire human race can trace its genetic lineage to a gene pool consisting of less than 200,000 individuals? That means that no one person on earth can be more than a fiftieth or so removed from another. All humanity is one family, interconnected by our common ancestry. I know of several studies if you are interested in reading further.

You asked and I quote "How can you miss the complete lack of calls for laws against it?". What did I miss exactly? Please, tell me because apparently there is a gaping hole in my logic that can only be filled by your kind wisdom; what laws could be put in place to prevent offensive comedy without infringing on free speech? Gather your thoughts and arrange them carefully, I look forward to your keen reply on the matter.

Anyway did you watch the video? its very relevant to the topic at hand and Patrice is hilarious!

Seems the comedy fans are of the consensus that 'It's fine to make rape jokes, just it's a shame he didn't try very hard and just seemed to come out with a poorly crafted piece of abuse instead'.

To me, it sounded like he got caught off guard and reacted without thinking, and when these things blow up, it might be the best move to just deliver a public apology, and then go back to doing what he does without any changes, except to come up with some better retorts in future.

I do think it'd be a travesty for anyone to lose a damn career over a single badly chosen line, but for some reason we seem to take the opinions of people who didn't hear it and weren't there over the actual audience.

Want to bet me that 95% of the people who signed that petition weren't at the show, and probably weren't even offended, but just don't like Tosh, and are usually commenting on youtube clips going 'this fag not funny' and the like?

Still, if the case of Johnathon Ross and Russell Brand is anything to go by, their prank phone call got 2 complaints, until the newspapers got involved and made sure that everyone who wouldn't listen to them by choice got to hear how 'terrible' the things they said were, and suddenly, 30,000 complaints.

Now Ross has his own prime time TV show back, and Russell Brand has too, and he's in movies. Thanks Daily Mail!

What I would love to know is if Tosh did this to a man, would it still offend some of these people? I mean come on! Seriously guys, it's getting out of hand how sensitive some of you are now days. If you don't like it, simply ignore it. Don't ruin it for others who find Tosh hilarious.

Also SadakoMoose, Tosh never did threaten the women with rape and could you make the poll less biased? -sigh-

From the woman's article: "The suggestion... was meant to put me in my place"

yes. Yes it was. And damned if it didn't work!
Don't heckle the person onstage. If you don't like the act, leave. At no point is it acceptable behavior to call out like a little child.

This woman is ENTIRELY in the wrong, and this thread offends me. The title is misleading, the poll is shameful, and the entire thread topic is whining about a comedian DOING HIS NORMAL STAND-UP.

But of course, so many of you are still gonna insist that this is something horrible, because that's the latest damn bandwagon to jump on. I'm sick of it.

I'm not going to get into a fight over rape jokes, but this survey is bad, and even if it is a troll, the OP should feel bad

Also, comedy is tragedy+time. The darker the comedy, the closer to the time one gets and the more serious the tragedy may be. This includes things such as rape, murder, terrorism, suicide, pedophilia and natural disasters. Rape itself isn't funny. Murder isn't funny. Suicide isn't funny. But jokes about these subjects can be hilarious.

Also, I'd prefer to be raped than to step on a stonefish or to be eaten alive by army ants. All of these are horrible ordeals but the latter two apparently hurt something fierce.

I guess what I'm saying here is: don't rape. It's bad, and rapers should feel bad.
