I'm not sure, he's not on the same scale of craziness as Heath Ledger. He uses smart and witty humour in Doctor Who, akin to the Riddler, whereas the Joker was more mentally disfunctional and genuinely insane, although David Tennant may be up to the task (first episode of the remake of the series "Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased)" he did play quite the nutter).
Yeah, I forgot he was playing the riddler. He may work well with it, but one issue is that Britain usually think of him as a genetic good guy, so how well he will play a bad guy is questionnable, as former Doctor Who star Christopher Ecclestone has played bad guys before and due to his connection with doctor who, you just didn't think of him as a bad guy. Mind you, the riddler does have that wit that the doctor has about him so it could work.
I'd like Harley Quinn or the Riddler, but they're too similar to the Joker. Maybe Catwoman- after having just lost Rachel, how would Batman feel to have this wonky sex kitten lapping him up? Someone who also shares a night life and has more in common with Batman than anyone else?
