Or they could go really crazy and bring back the Stumps (the dwarf race, they died in the 90's). And while I'm dreaming I would like a million bucks. My biggest problem is that they would just be bringing an army tha'st just a Space Marine spin off. Realistically I think that they should bring in the Demons of Chaos, which to date have seen no action. Since that army is based of four different gods, you could have a verity of play styles. My idea would be to have 4 differnt versions of each unit, and then you could customise which one you wanted before the battle. This would be a compromise: Slaanesh for people who want really fast, really agressive units (Dark Eldar), Tzeentch for people that would like shoot stuff to bits (Tau, IG), Nurgle for those who like having a horde that just won't die (Necrons), and Khrone for those of us that like to see demons killing everything in sight with huge axes (just about everyone). But the only way for balancing not to be a pain is to make you stick with one god for the entire tech tree. Another problem is that the demons can teleport to any part of the battle field right from the start. They could just get rid of that.

Tricky thing to do. As antagonists that idea might work, but as a playable faction... if you give people control over a specific faction, they need to have at least one character (preferrably more) they can identify with on some level, and while Chaos Marines can easily deliver on that, the Demons as a stand-alone are a somewhat different kettel of fish. I admit, the idea isn't bad, but I don't know if it'd be marketable. :\

I would have to disagree. I don't see how anyone could relate to tyranids anymore than the D.o.C. I believe that the most important thing would be that people would actually enjoy playing as a faction. Then again I am a Tyranid player, so it doesn't really matter to me if I relate to them or not, I just can't play as any of the other factions. Another problem would be if you added the D.o.C. than you would almost have to add the Demon Hunters to the mix. I really don't think that their uber elite but small squad size units would fit in DoW 2. It would just take way too much micro management to get them to work, thus taking some of the fun out of the game.

They need to add Tyranids. Oh, sorry, I'm just so used to hoping they were next in DoW1.

On a related note, I hope they bring back the Librarian and psyker powers in the first expansion. Introducing a new SM chapter that's centered heavily around the use of psykers and the acquisition of lost knowledge and then not sticking with the theme smacks of inconstistency somewhat.
Yeah, but now that this is getting a little closer to the lore, won't Librarians be overpowered? (because they are)

I mean, a Librarian can look at a Force Commander, close his fist, and then the Force Commanders head is squished.

Also, does anyone here think that a 3rd army may be brought in a new expansion?

I'm going to have to agree with the majority here and say Chaos and the Imperial Guard should be added next. However, I would like to see more variety with a Chaos faction this time around, with less of a focus on Chaos Space Marines and more on traitor Guardsmen/heretics/daemons. Though the Imperial Guard would be a challenge to implement with a game that focuses more on small-scale battles, it could be done. Perhaps they could make them similar to the Tyranids with regards to cost, where standard Guarsdmen are very weak but cost next to nothing, and the big powerful tanks cost an arm and a leg.

Imperial guard, because they had been in the campaign of DOW2 so they should be next. My second choice would be the Tau.

I didn't mind the Tau, and I think another ranged focused faction would go well with the cover system.

If there will be an expansion I would like another single player campaign that doesn't just involve "go here kill/defend this". Boss fights were a nice touch but when it comes down to it, every mission was pretty much the same... with the exception of the storyline missions (Angel Forge etc).

But yes, would like to see the Tau make an appearance, however chaos space marines seem more fitting as the tau are not as violent, they just defended their own planet after all.

Chaos (I imagine) would be released as two separate armies. Chaos Demons and Chaos Space Marines. Probably In the same expansion and the campaign would be for them. Then give it a big chaos-y name. Chaos is a very powerful force and would be shame not include them.
+1 vote for chaos

I'd also say Tau or Necrons would be next logical armies seeing as they already have one of the Eldars in game and several human armies left to include.

Imp guard already have some units made for the game so I'd say they'll come soon. Command squad would pwn.

Come on Necrons. Any ones better than the Tau.

Also why does it have to be CSM? Why not just Chaos?

By thinking of Relics background with patches, I think almost all of the armies will be added with different playstyles, as long as people keep buying them.

I think they can make Chaos without making them too similar to Space Marines this time around.

That said, my vote goes for Necrons.

It's really difficult to choose. All of them should have made the cut to start with.
Never would've happened. They need to milk us a bit more with expansion packs.

I hope they do a whole chaos thing. Since 5th edition 40K for the tabletop they've separated the Chaos Marine Army from the Chaos Demon army (why? I will never know) so I'm afraid we're probably going to get two relatively (when compared to DOW1) crappy chaos armies rather than one kickass one.

I would hope for Lost and the Damned (the mutant army; not to be confused with the overpriced GTA mission expansion) but that would be foolish optimism.

I'll be shocked if they ever bring back the Dark Eldar and Sisters of Battle tbh. Both were broken.
