Well, its coming, in a short four years, the Mayan calendar reached its abrupt end, a calendar well known for accurately predicting eclipses hundreds of years in the future. So I ask you fellows at the Escapist forums, what do you think will happen?

Remember on june 6 2006, they said that because it was 666 the world was going to end compleatly forgeting the 3 0's and the 2. however nothing will happen then, however I think it will be funny to see idios running around like idiots because they think th world will end.

In the words of FilmDrunk.com; if the Mayans were so good at predictions how come they didn't predict gunpowder. Who cares but a bunch of dead idiots wrote? It's because some people still listen to the prophetic drivel in the Bible and the Koran that loads of people are dying the Middle East at the moment.

wrong there are 2 predictians that the world will end. one is the mayan predictian that state that this world will come to an end and a new one will ris. the other is from a thing called bible code, which uses paterns in the torah to determine prophecies, one of which is deccember 2012(its in the hebrew calender so it's like 5000 something)/ winter solstice/ end of days.

In summary there isn't a prophecy, there are 2.

I have a program on my computer that can calculate the exact date and time of the next eclipse. Surprisingly enough, that does not make this program capable of calculating when the world will end.

The Mayans were very good at predicting eclipses. I'm not going to credit them with anything more than that: to do so is kind of foolish.

actually, scientists believe this could be possible. something about large planetary bodies lining up and it causing a magnetic shift which causes the earth to rotate or something along those lines, causing massive climate shifts.

either way, I still don't think anything is going to happen.
