In such an event, I'd probably be too busy pummeling the would-be thief with my fists to really consider a gun I might be carrying. Then again, I wouldn't be caught dead buying an iPad.
That's what I think too! Unfortunatly, here in the US to the best of my knowledge, I think you can get sued by the burgler if you hurt them while they are robbing your house. I think most of those are dismissed, but the fact that they are able to infuriates me.Eukaryote said:EDIT: I am sounding like a psychopath in these threads. you can only call it self defence if theyd threatened you with a pistol first rightEukaryote said:Unfortunately, that is still murder in Canada. I really wish it wasn't, I'd draw a thief's death out too.

Indeed. Also I'm glad we don't have many guns here in the UK. I'd be in prison!RicoADF said:Then you'll hear about alot of shootings where people have invited someone they don't like over and shot them saying its 'defence'. It's not that black & white. To be honest a taser would be far more effective, more entertaining, more painful for the attacker and you don't have the attempted murder issue (since tasers are classified as non lethal weapons).ffian1 said:As far as I reckon, the law should be changed so that when people enter someone else's private residence with the intent to steal, maim or vandalise - they should lose their rights as a human being. *SNIP*
