Tell us moar.

Is the much discussed lack of endgame addressed? I was only ever interested in D3 for single player, I could care less about auction houses and multiplayer balancing. What's it got for me?
They added 100 paragon levels for when u hit 60, really increased the ability to get good loot at all levels, they also added monster power levels which let u increase any of the difficulties to varying levels to get better rewards at the cost of increased difficulty. Lastly they have added various high end events. Like I said they improved not fixed, there is still problems with endgame and such but the game is on the right path. Go to thre site to check out more specific details.
Doesn't sound much better to me.
Maybe reduced grind, but not really improving on the core problems.

Then again, to me, the core problems with Diablo are now apparently the whole point of playing, so what do I know?

The thing I hate about Diablo 3 is that they expect you to play the same content over and over and over again on slightly harder difficulties each time until you get to level 60, at which point they want you to just farm equipment so you can have an easier time doing that inferno content, or to sell it so you get gold for... something or other/real money while giving other people an easier time doing that Inferno content. While it's nice that there's a new expansion, they'll still want people to continue that farming/difficulty level playing.

Also, DRM ruined hardmode. Server errors and hacking make hardmode what it is, not difficulty within the game.
Here is someone who clearly didn't play the original. The whole point of Diablo's replayability was doing it over and over while it got slightly more difficult.

People seem to forget that D3 sold over 6 million copies in its first week. An expansion pack is no surprise at all. I still don't get why people have such an issue with the game. I've enjoyed it quite a bit. While I don't play it much any more, I still duck in every so often when I've got time to kill.
It is because of the "Online Only" thing, mainly. Also the Real Money Auction House which hasn't changed a damn thing. It existed illegally through alternate means back in D2, and it exists now. The only difference: Blizzard gets a cut of the money.

Also: All those complaining about the "Online Only" thing, I have noticed are almost always online. At least around here. They have no reason to complain about it as it hasn't really changed anything either.
I feel I was entitled to complain about the Online Only element when I was continually getting disconnected from the D3 servers. I may always be online, but if the servers aren't working, then I can't play. I never have problems playing other multiplayer games, so I know it's not my ISP. It just meant that Blizzard's servers were overloaded and dropped people on occasion. However, I was able to play Diablo 2 with no disconnections whatsoever since it was only running ON MY PC!!

That said, I enjoyed D3 for what it was worth. I'll probably go back someday and play it with the other characters. But they really dropped the ball with the skill trees since all the members of each class are always EXACTLY THE SAME as they level up. D2 was so much better with its leveling and skill trees. You could play through with two Necromancers and have completely different characters by the end of the game. In D3, they'll be exactly the same except for equipment and (possibly) what skills they currently have selected.

Wait people still play Diablo3?

Well i guess this goes to show , people will pay for anything with a well known name ( diablo)
Yes, and it has nothing to do with the fact that it was a well made game. Nope. It is just because of the name. No other reason. Nope.

OT: Hunt for Adria is my bet.
Was it? I thought the general consensus was it was terribly boring . I may have gotten my facts wrong. And i may be a little bias due to the fact i played it about 1 month before dropping it . But i seriously didn't hear much after the first week , not to say people don't play it , but it wasn't all that good .

So in other words "Everyone's identical (aside from gear, skills and anything else that makes them unique?)"

Or are you implying that there was a stat/skill allocation in Diablo II worth picking/using that wasn't an "Enough Strength & Dexterity for Gear requirements, everything else into Vitality, ignore Magic altogether" build based around spamming whatever your classes version of Frozen Orb/Sacred Hammer was?

Well lets see, the Black Soulstone was never destroyed.

It fell back to earth.
Tyrael has mentioned that the Archangel of Wisdom is missing, having gone insane.

And Adria the "Evil" witch from Diablo 1 is still out and about. And you know what, I think she senses a soul in search of answers.

See but here's the thing about D1/2.

It wasn't bogged down in cutscenes. the villains NEVER talked, except baal but the only time he did, he followed through with some head exploding.

Diablo in act 4 just sounds like a whiny *****. Or a little kid who is trying to beat you in imagination time. "MY PORTALS TO THE UNDERWORLD ARE INDESTRUCTIBLE ZOMG YOU KILLED THEM. BUT UHM THERES LIKE 3 MORE OH MY GIDDY AUNT YOU KILLED THOSE TOO!!"

D2 is where it really found its sweet spot. The limitations of that particular class system made builds much more engaging and meaningful, thus offering a broader scope of gameplay across all classes. The lack thereof in D3 meant that there really was no reason to play multiples of any class sans the online friend clause or trophy hunting.
[sub]Though there's always something to be said about a game needing to use superficial incentives to begin with.[/sub]

Hey kid! Ever been stabbed?

All jest aside I'll probably have to wait upwards of three years for this thing to come out but I am really excited for it nonetheless.

I am going with both Covetous Shen and the Jewel while Hunting for Adria.

I had fun, at first, with D3 - but I am not playing it at all right now. If I hear the expansion adds a lot more life to the game I will start a new character and go for it (I assume a new class or two are on the way).

The villains usually screamed something or other when you first ran across them, but yeah, all the talking they did was certainly my least favorite part of it. Like some saturday morning cartoon villain yelling at the hero from his fortress. I can't for the life of me figure out why Azmodan is Hell's greatest general. Dumbass kept telling you what he's doing like a Bond villain.

But sans the dialogue I thought the bosses were much better than in D2. For the most part, they don't have the generic look from the originals. Some of the bosses in D2 were just straight color swaps (The Forger in act 1 and Hephasteus in Hell, The dead rogue boss in the graveyard), and they were rather flat from a character standpoint. Most of the time it was just "Hey, this person's bad and we saw them, go kill 'em." In D3, we at least get some personality behind ALL the bosses.

Alright well the smith/heph could be explained in the sense that they are both goddamn smithing-typeish demons. Same family.

And blood raven might be generic, but she actually had a story. You remember diablo 1? Yeah she was the rogue.

Also since when the hell did we start doing commercials in the captchas... Cause mine is literally telling me t go get "TEH HOPPAH FROM DISH"

Mmmmmm more an error sadly ;_; , also if I want to be constantly online in a game it will be an F2P game.
