Not only did I enjoy it, I told him I was there to kill him. You can't just insult someone who can turn invisible, slit your throat and summon liches, y'know?

At first I just figured he would have his day, after hearing that my mission was to return to prison to murder him, only one thing crossed my mind. That when you insult an orc that kills armed soldiers with his bare fists, he will come back to bite you... HARD!

He died with a fist sized whole in his face, but not before letting him call the guards and laying waste to all who came to his aid.

It warmed my cockles immensely to whack him with my magic greatsword and watch his ragdoll smack into a stone wall.

Oh, that guy...

Came all the way to him before realising I hadn't packed a bow and arrows, so I had to get the key, and open his cell. It felt... unprofessional.

In Oblivion boss fights rarely ever felt epic. Dreth felt like just another random villainous mage.

That could be because Oblivion doesn't have any boss fights.

I had no idea who he was until I clicked on the link provided. Though having said that I do remember breaking into prison and killing someone. Could have been him.

I played the whole Dark Brotherhood quest and failed to notice it was him. Maybe I just forgot.
Same. I can say with some certainty that I likely enjoyed killing him, but not because of any past experiences with him.

Rarely does the murder of someone warm me to feverish temps. I loved taking the shot with my bow, sending my arrow arrow into his cowering, soon to be cold body. I smiled when his last pleas for help left his lips and his heart was pearced with the silver tip. :D

I would of enjoyed it more if I was able to avoid all the guards without having to simply run past them all constantly healing myself. Worked though.... It was fun like the rest of the quest line but annoying that at some points that I had to walk though the guard would simply not move and allways stare at te shadow I was sneeking in.

Other than that it was awesome...

By the time I got to that mission in the Dark Brotherhood I was so powerful a single slash was all it took for his corpse to fly into the wall of his cell. It wasn't exactly satisfying. I would have preferred a bit of torture and pleas for mercy at least.

There's Jyggalag, and the Worm King kind of counts since he spawns his own minions and has better spells than other enemies. Otherwise, I think you're right.

EDIT: and the Ayleid king in Knights of the Nine.

EDITEDIT: Also I mixed up Valen Dreth with Mankar Cameron. I don't know how.

Turns out that despite their cross-continent telepathic powers, the Oblivion guards consist mostly of deaf soldiers with poor attention spans.
Cross-continent telepathic powers is an understatement. I had 100% chameleon, 100 sneak, in a basement and moved something and was caught by a gaurd. :|
Either way i had fun killing him. Its also fun to console-command kill him on the computer version in the very beginning

You might want to put a spoiler warning for people who haven't played Oblivion yet. I would be pissed if this got spoiled for me. hahaha

hit him with a silence (so he couldn't scream) and paralysis poison
Silence doesn't actually silence the character. Silence is used on mages so that they can't cast spells, you'll occasionally get silenced yourself and a message will pop up. I made the same mistake as you, so it's no big deal, it's very misleading.

OT: Yeah, I always enjoy killing him. He was a massive **** to me at the beginning of the game and I always enjoy killing people who've been bastards to me in games. Yeah, killing is wrong, but it's a game and he's going to pay for his insultingly shit insults.

That's right, I take insult from the quality of the insult, not the insult itself.

Murdering the house full of people was far more fun. I just snuck back into my cell, shot a poisoned arrow and left. Not fun, just buisness.
