I didn't like the single player, but really, really liked the multiplayer. So yeah, I enjoyed it.
And btw, the halo series will continue on, but through Microsoft, not bungie. And it will probably suck.

I only enjoyed the first Halo. In my opinion, it was the only true quality game in the series, the rest catered to a stupid multiplayer base and it took away from the atmosphere of the first game in both single and multiplayer.

Hell yeah

The games were epic and have shaped the lives of 12 year old kids all over the world.

But jokes aside halo is one of the best gameing franchises ever for a reason nuff said.

Strangely enough, ODST is probably the most relaxing shooter i've ever played. Music is just soooo soothing. xD
Thats ironic because they actualy made it to sound depressing.

OT:Considering im a halo fanboy, yes i did enjoy them. Also its not the end of halo, 343 indistries will be making Halo games, and I doubt Bungie is truely done makeing Hlao game, theyre just taking a big brake.Well,at least in my mind, that is.

Only with friends.
Also, I feel like the only person in the world who actually loved ODST sometimes.
Trust me your not alone. I loved ODST, despite the lack of multiplayer, but it made that up for me with the countless Firefight hours logged with friends. I wish they just would've captured the same feeling of it in Reach, but they didnt.

Halo 1 (I got it for the PC) I thought the campaign was good but lacked memorable levels, maybe I'm biased because I bought it in like 2008. The multiplayer, obviously, wasn't too good either.

Halo 2 I thought was an improvement in every way, the campaign had memorable levels (The Breaking Benjamin Room, no gravity section, fighting the Brutes as Arbiter) albeit with some extremely terrible levels as well. The addition of the Arbiter gave it much more story depth and made me annoyed that you couldn't play as him in Halo 3 (I bought Halo 2 about the same time as Halo 1 by the way). Finally the multiplayer was a HUGE improvement and the maps were great.

I bought Halo 3 first out of the series when I first got my 360 and the campaign alone was good enough to keep me playing for the year before I got Live but I really had no idea what was going on story-wise. When I did get Live it took me a while to get the hang of it but ended up playing it the most out of any of my games until the release of the Mythic map pack after which I stopped playing since most of the games weren't allowed since I didn't have it, which annoyed me quite a bit to say the least.

Never played ODST.

Got Reach a couple weeks ago and I think that the campaign suffered the same fate as Halo 1, lack of memorable levels. I mean yeah the space combat was pretty good but the 5 minute tutorial you had to play through everytime you wanted to play it kept it from something you could play on a whim. Not to say the campaign wasn't fun, just that nothing stands out when everything's shining. The multiplayer was again, an improvement in every way as far as I'm concerned, Forge has made some incredible custom maps even if Forge World was over-hyped and Firefight will give me hours of fun long after the campaign's gone stale (Gruntpocalypse FTW)

I've written way more than I intended for this :S

Yes. I hopped on the bandwagon a year or so after Halo 3's release, and never looked back. while I found Halo 3's campaign slightly boring in Single Player, I enjoyed the multiplayer experience with friends. I then Bought Halo: Reach when it came out and thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of it. So yes, even though I've hardly played Halos 1 and 2, I still enjoyed the series as a whole. Oh, and I enjoyed ODST.

Nope. I enjoyed the first game a lot. Then it went on its slope to mediocrity and i just lost interest. Thats one of the reasons I didnt get a 360. My firned did, i went to play Halo 2, didnt care for it after the greatness of the first kept my PS2 before finally upgrading to a PS3 recently. So no, I lost interest fast and would have to say on the hole, I did not like it. it had a bright start, then just fizzled under its fans and inability to change.

The Halo series was always fun. The story, though, was something I held more of an interest in than the actual game play. Still, most of the characters are very enjoyable, and I love how much thought and character they put into each of the alien races.

To agree with some people in here.. Microsoft should definitely remake Halo 2 and put it on the 360. I'd have such a fun time with it.

Yes and no, I enjoyed playing through 1,2,3 but in each game I really had less and less fun (part of it due to how bad I had gotten at using a controller due to spending 90% of my time on the PC for gaming). ODST rolled around and I really didn't care for it and just felt bored and quit about 3-4 hours into it. I bought Reach on a whim when I saw it for $40 pre launch at a deal site, got it played a few hours of multiplayer, an hour of campaign, didn't get into it at all and just never picked it up again.
I don't know if it is exactly the fault of the halo series or the fact that I use consoles less and less as each year passes, and as a result when I pick up a controller it feels like I'm using an alien device and my character walks around like a drunk monkey with a peg leg. Maybe it is a combination of both.

Though I only own one of the series, of what I have played of 3, ODST, and Reach, I have thoroughly enjoyed. One of the things I was disappointed by in Reach was the severe lack of Brute weapons and vehicles. So that was a bit of a letdown, but overall I find it to be great fun no matter how much I play.

I enjoyed the hell out of Halo, didn't like Halo 2 very much & Halo 3 was par for the course. I answered yes but my interest really started to wane after the second one came out.

I my opinion nothing beats a all-night of 2-3 system linked xbox's on halo 3. what happens there stays with you. as for the campaign yeah it was a pretty good story but i can't say it was the greatest.

Seriously, i'm just wondering whether people enjoyed the franchise as a whole as of now considering the massive change that is occurring in terms of devs.

Is it a crime to talk about video games on a video game site now?
Well, not to sound like an asshole even though I'm going to anyways, no, it's not a crime. But it gets annoying seeing the topic brought up just about every week...-_-

I see your point and you're probably right, but i haven't personally seen any polls asking about the franchise as a whole unless i conveniently missed them for whatever reason. So i thought i'd just post a poll myself.

Halo isn't over at all. As long as people buy the games, Microsoft will keep releasing them. It doesn't matter who makes them at this point, as long as MS makes money.
