After watching around three games, I got used of it. I do miss the chanting though.

As far as I'm concerned, those things completely ruined the atmosphere of the World Cup - it sounded like there was an enormous swarm of bees hanging over the stadium for every freaking game; I don't care if it is a part of their culture, it's a stupid part and it shouldn't have been used.

I found it annoying once, and it wasn't even during a World Cup game. It was during a baseball game, where the team that was at home, (Tampa, I believe), decided to give them out before the game. That was when it annoyed me. During the World Cup, I didn't really notice.

Mainly as it made this World Cup a better spectacle for me, it drowned out the boos when England played...kinda and I just loved the fact these over-paid, over-hyped, over-exposed primadonnas got so worked up over them. So for that fact, they will forever hold a place in my heart.
