Did you like the new Star Trek movie?

I was worried going to it that I wouldn't like it. I'm a die hard Star Trek fan and I was worried since all my friends who had never watched it in their lives loved it I thought it would be a good movie but maybe not a good Star Trek movie (if that makes sense). But I loved every minute of it. It was updated and clever and while it was different to the old movies it still had that Star Trek charm.

I haven't found one person yet who disliked it and I'm curious as to why someone might. Where better to look than the internet.

I kind of liked it, but I felt like it wasn't anything special. It was sort of funny, sort of cool, and sort of good. Maybe if Simon Pegg was in it more...

Simon Pegg as Scottie.

The film itself was good, i just have a major issue with the plot.

Imagine the scene:

A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, Luke skywalker decided that he wasnt going too pay the jawa's outlandish prices and passed up on the droids.

He then settled into a nice career in moisture farming, Settled down with Suzie-makosh and eventually became a wealthy land owner.

----

Its star wars...but its not.

And basically thats how i feel about the star trek movie. You cant say, we've got 40 years of writing going into various seasons & now you want too go and re-write the start. No!

I loved it. I've never really seen any Star Trek anything, minus a few Star Trek: The Next Generation episodes, and the movie, "First Contact." (I think that was the name).

(Points to the movie for awesome Special Effets.)

This is what happened when I went with my mum, dad and little brother.
"What does that mean?" "Whats that?" Even for me, the one that's "best" at english had some confusing moments. Well not ass much as Hancock.

Generally: Flashing Lights and darkness.

I think it brought some freshness to the series, considering the last few movies weren't....up to par.

I liked it quite a bit, keep in mind I have never watched Star Trek before, so to me it was just a well done action movie. Greta effects and I love Simon Pegg!

You know he didn't even audition for the part, they just sent him a letter asking him.

I also liked every minute of the movie. My friends and family agree that half way through we wanted to see it again.

big flashy get rid of the old fans. they just want another series to squeeze more money from
People always asume that with seris reboots maybe a movie maker didn't like they last Star Trek movie so they vowed to do a better job. I personaly think that's what happend with Nolan and Batman Begins.

I liked it a lot. I'm not a trekkie by any means, but I'd absorbed enough from the internet to get most of the in-jokes (and I was happy that the movie didn't rely on them).

so then i guess you missed the 10 or so times they mentioned "this is an alternate time-line/universe" in the movie? it was one of the running jokes in it

i liked the movie, had tons of nods to the original one, including a couple very obscure ones like Vasquez Rocks Natural Park and of course the return of Ensign Red Shirt
