I've had my PS2 (Slim) since 2005, and it's never broken down on me.

I had a fat PS2 before it, and the only reason I don't own it now, is because I sold it to get the slim.

I've had mine now for about 6-7 years, and it's still working fine, never had a problem with it.

Well, I say that, it's developing a bad habit of not running cutscenes smoothly on some games (by far the worst being Xenosaga Ep. 2), although even that seems to have cleared up for the moment...

Some parts has fallen off or come loose, but it still works just as well as when it was brand new. Despite its shaggy duct tape exterior. Still works to this day.

I only had to replace mine when i poured milk (accidentally) into the USB ports and shorted the poor thing out. that was a sad few weeks until my mom got me another :p

Mine has not broken a single time. I'm still on my first, original fat PS2.

I accidently broke my first one myself. It probably would've survived but...I slipped.

My second and current one is starting to break down and needs a bit of a slap on the head to read discs.

The funny thing is my PS1 still works perfectly.

mine stopped running dvds, then cds, then psone games and then some ps2 games. Had it up until last year when I got a ps3... with no backwards compatability

My original big black monolith one did. The disc reader failed on it. I then replaced it with a silver slim one and it still works as far as I know, I haven't played it in quite some time.

Nope, had the slim version and it still works to this day. Sometimes takes a few attempts to read CD's but it works in the end. Reliable fun that thing :3

My original Ps2 which was from a year after launch eventually stopped reading DvD's and then stopped reading Ps1 games then stopped working altogether. I ended up sending it in and they sent me another one.

The same problem is now reoccurring but I never use my Ps2 for dvds regardless. The only way for me to launch a Ps1 game is to launch it from the Memory card selection screen.

My Ps2 probably has more playtime with Ps1 games than Ps2 games so it kind of sucks for me.

My 360 has died 3 times though within 3 years, every September lol, this year must've been a leap year.

I had to replace it but in all fairness my brother straight up punched it. To this day he claims that that did nothing.

mine broke after it took a swan dive off the top of the TV(8years after it was bought)

took it apart for the hell of it(the heatsink on the thing takes up a quarter of the thing) and picked up a used one at game stop and that one has been working fine

After literally about two-dozen people quoting a remark I made in another thread about how I never knew anyone who didn't have to replace their PS2 at least once, I couldn't help but get curious. How many escapists had their PS2 break on them, and how many times as it happened to you?

I've gone through two PS2s, the first one I got in 2002 as a bundle with Final Fantasy X, and that lasted until 2005, when the mechanism that moved the laser died. I then bought a slim PS2 in a bundle with GT4, which, thankfully, still works perfectly to this day. What about you?
I got a bundle with Prince of Persia the Sands of Time... for Christmas 2003.

It still works and I played it regularly (was the only console I owned) until late 2009.

I still have it, and it still works, but my girlfriend's slim is set up as it takes up less space.

No, next year is a leap year.
