I grew up with both and I have to say although the pokemon was more popular, I liked the Digimon series more.

With Digimon (I'm reffering to seasons 1-3) you couldn't hide them in a tiny ball and they weren't well known. It didn't take place in another universe like in pokemon where the evryday animals were replaced with similar animals with powers. No, with the Digimon, you felt more of a connection with them because in seasons 1 & 2 they are simply a group if misfits who get trapped on an island and are trying to get back home. with pokemon its about wanting to become a pokemon master while in Digimon its simply to have peace and hang out with close friends. No chosen one bull no fantastic treasures just a bunch of kids trying to get home and I think that younger kids gravatate to that more because 1 its in our world and 2 its just a want to be home and have fun with friends.

In the pokemon series the monsters were held inside a ball and you could catch any and every pokemon in exsistance which I felt came off as them being expendable. In the Digimon series you were partered up with one digimon and that was it plus there was no fancy way of hiding it so you had to think creatively. THe Digimon felt more like friends and less like pets unlike the pokemon.

I'm just asking, what did you like better and why did you think so. Be sure to include your reason such as story, character development, music, etc.

I liked pokemon better, I could actually remember them all, their evolutions were permanent, they couldn't talk, and the story was generally a lot less confusing. Oh, and it had Ash. Ash was awesome.

I really, really don't like Pokemon. But I dislike Digimon even more. So I voted Pokemon.

Digimon, the series was far better than the Pokemon one.

There was some plot to it, not just a theme like "Gotta catch 'em all!" It was about a group of kids who just wanted to get home (and in the process saving the world from some demonic virus).

Looking back on both, they weren't actually astounding shows, but they still hold a place in my heart.

Ya, Digimon was ok. It wasn't a Pokemon clone like some people think. But the later episodes got too dark. And Pokemon made some good video games.

I liked Digimon, but never really watched much of it. saw a movie or two, and it kinda beat anything Pokemon could field.
So I'd say Digimon.

Dammit... Now I wanna go find and watch some digimon...

Digimon. Why? Because those guys could talk, not say their name over and over and over and over and... you get the point.

It also has a much better plot than Pokemon. And the Digimon could attack without some idiot telling them what to do.

only only played the pokemon gameboy games, did digimon have games?
Digimon Rumble Arena 1 & 2 are the best of the digimon games that came out.

As a show, Digimon will win out for me every time. Never really liked the Poke'mon show.

I grew up with both too, but if I had to pick, it'd be Digimon. Seasons 1 & 2 were the best, didn't really like Tamers that much, they started turning it into a game like Yu-Gi-Oh! or something of that nature. The only reason I didn't pick pokemon is because Ash has been trying to become a master for how long now? At least the Digimon series died after season 4 or 5, Pokemon just keeps going.
