I grew up with both and I have to say although the pokemon was more popular, I liked the Digimon series more.
With Digimon (I'm reffering to seasons 1-3) you couldn't hide them in a tiny ball and they weren't well known. It didn't take place in another universe like in pokemon where the evryday animals were replaced with similar animals with powers. No, with the Digimon, you felt more of a connection with them because in seasons 1 & 2 they are simply a group if misfits who get trapped on an island and are trying to get back home. with pokemon its about wanting to become a pokemon master while in Digimon its simply to have peace and hang out with close friends. No chosen one bull no fantastic treasures just a bunch of kids trying to get home and I think that younger kids gravatate to that more because 1 its in our world and 2 its just a want to be home and have fun with friends.
In the pokemon series the monsters were held inside a ball and you could catch any and every pokemon in exsistance which I felt came off as them being expendable. In the Digimon series you were partered up with one digimon and that was it plus there was no fancy way of hiding it so you had to think creatively. THe Digimon felt more like friends and less like pets unlike the pokemon.
I'm just asking, what did you like better and why did you think so. Be sure to include your reason such as story, character development, music, etc.
