Title says it all, really. Has Disney, once famous for purveying beautiful animated masterpeices such as Fantasia, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King etc, fallen and ceased continuously releasing awesomosity?
I'm really on the yes side for this, myself. Disney Movies - all crap in the last decade - the only good films were Tarzan, Lilo and Stitch (beyond awesome), and the Pixar stuff (except Cars). Disney Channel - Vacuous programming that utterly fails to charm. Everything is a fucking sitcom with the premises of better shows recycled and the jokes drained of humour. Except Phineas and Ferb - that owns all. Opinions?

I know what you're saying. But don't forget that Disney, like so many other things, is a business. If the stuff they make sells well to its audience, it will continue to be made, simple as that.

I'm pretty sure their movies are all still at the same level they always where, and I'm sure their tv series where never that good anyway.

My only real problem with Diseny is that they unleashed Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers on the world. And I will never forgive them for that!

Since Disney decided to unleash crap like Hannah Montana upon us, I consider them to be bastards. In fact, I've lost respect for Kingdom Hearts somewhat because of Disney being idiots. I just hope that in Kingdom Hearts 3 we won't have to have Zac Effron in our party...

Let's hope the death of Zac Effron is the main "moral choice" in that game too. But anyway, Pixar should be coming out with some awesome movies soon. Up is one that I am eagerly awaiting for. I also hear Toy Story 3 is coming out in 2010. Something you need to remember: Disney's demographic is the kids up to 15-16 and people with the I.Q. under 73. So the real question: is Pixar keeping the essence of the Disney we once knew alive?

Wall-E was brilliant. I must agree with people above that Hanna Montanna and Hillary Duff and all that other pink crap was a really, really bad marketing descision.

Most of it sucks, the occasional gem pops up, but that's usually when they collaborate with Pixar.

Think about it. Have you ever seen a bad Pixar film?

Nothing will match the old classics like Aladdin, The Lion King & Dumbo etc.

Did anyone see Bolt? That was the first movie that Disney's animation team had made after John Lasseter (of Pixar fame) had taken over and rejuvenated the staff. Apparently it was meant to be pretty good. Anyone know?

Nah, it was a GREAT marketing decision, just a poor creative one. They print money with Hannah Montanah.

They have sold their soul for filthy lucre. Yes, HSM stuff sells, but why not take care in your work instead of rubber-stamping the same old movie out again and again? They latch onto anything with a modicum of success and bleed it dry (PotC for example, which you can actually see degrade in quality...)

I like 3D Animation, but Disney has yet to make anything artistic with not. Meanwhile, even some of their average Hand-drawn movies I can enjoy watching just for the artistic value. Pixar gets it right, but Pixar isn't Disney.

I find it interesting to read that Bolt was the first movie made by Disney since a Pixar employee started working for them, because Bolt was the first good movie they've made since they went all 3D with their cartoons.

Chicken Little, didn't bother to see. Meet the Robinsons, garbage. Bolt, simply awesome.

Disney has most certainly died as a credible company in my eyes. The originals are classics and will remain to be, but the sequels are just atrocities aimed at milking more money from the cows proverbial tit. It should have died with the first one, and really Aladin did not need a sequel IMO as it was good enough on its own.

The release of the disney channel, disney raido, and the mickey mouse club are also just as bad as seeing sequels that ruined a good thing for a vast majority of us (Mid 20's - early 30's if I had to put a demographic). The onslaught of Britney Spear, Christina Agulara and the likes is like taking a trash can, putting it over my head while repeatedly banging it with a metal rod (Though I will admit Justin Timberlake going solo was a good thing, just remove the N Sync era). The also pseudo teenie bopper, dull, look at me make poor jokes on television really has to stop. Hannah Montana is one that definitely sticks out like a sore thumb.

As for gaming, I quite enjoyed Kingdom Heart and Kingdom Hearts 2. They were pretty decent games with an interesting story, and it was fun seeing familiar faces that I grew up watching in good ol' technicolour! I think disney did a good thing when teaming up with Square Enix here and am eagerly awaiting KH3 (Though still won't shell out 500 dollars for a PS3).

I'm sick of them animated movies. The first ones were great but now there milking a dead cow for money. And Hannah Montana. She's good looking but that's it. Someone please run the Jonas Bros. over with a train.
