I like it, and probably better than New Vegas. We'll see, from what I can tell, the only major part that was improved was overall story, which doesn't really matter in an open-world RPG.

I'm a man.

Most guys i know that play games like Fallout 3, i really don't know why that's such a shock. As a man who has enjoyed Fallout 1, 2, BoS, and 3, i find it kind of odd that anyone would really dislike this particular iteration, but i guess it's not for everybody.

hell yeah, everyone loves Fallout 3

except those weird Black Isle fan/loyalists who for some reason hate everything that isn't FO1/FO2
Not really. It's not like they hate it just to hate it, there are many legitimate complaints you could have about it. Many of those people hated 3 and ended up liking New Vegas. A lot of it is irrational though.

Anyway, yeah I love Fallout 3. It would probably be in my top ten. Don't think it really ties to what gender you are though.

A lot of it is irrational? I'd say most of it.

Fallout 3 was the superior game in setting, and in quests (apart from the main quest.)

New Vegas' setting was boring/undewhelming. The "well-developed" characters not as well-developed as "purists" claim, and the quests far too often involved back-and-forth fetching or chatting.

It introduced some cool mechanics, and the ending was better, but that was just about it. Also, it was even buggier than FO3.

Of course, these things are subjective (bullshit).

Let's not turn it into one of those threads, please.

The only game I played and managed to clock up 100hours but still want more. Also my girlfriend played it for a bit and said she'd like it more if she felt she had a more straight mission/purpose. Which I know isn't the point of Fallout but that's a good thing for my girlfriend to say, she's picky as HELL!

I love Fallout 3. I just let my little cousin (age:14) borrow it because he's never played it.

Such things are impossible. Ultimately, someone would have come in here claiming Bethesda ruined Fallout.

I simply... preempted that. Whenever Fallout is involved, arguments will always be forthcoming.

You do realize that no matter what you say, they'll still argue to the contrary, right?

Besides, Fallout was ruined long before Bethesda, by Interplay. It's called Brotherhood of Steel. (Not Tactics) And it was so terrible that the franchise was dead for about 5 years before it was brought back with 3.

I don't care if it isn't even canon.

Oh, I know this. But I am hardly reasonable when it comes to dealing with unreasonable people.

I really just didn't like Fallout 3 very much. I love the idea for the setting and I love that particular style of gameplay, but the actual implementation of the setting reminded me of Oblivion: vast and ultimately shallow. It felt like someone had built a game and then decided to try to write story justifying the direction of the game as an afterthought. I think this is one of the main failings of a lot of open-world RPGs like that and the main reason I will always love Morrowind for doing seemingly the opposite (though sometimes to the clear detriment of the gameplay...).

I did get hold of a copy of NV recently though, which I've been told is a lot better in that respect, though I've been too distracted by DXHR to play it yet.

(Edit: I'm a boy.)

Loved it!

Fallout 3 > New Vegas.
I know some people thought it was nice to chose their backstory (limited to a courier) but I prefer the Fallout 3 opening anyday.

I like it. Some boys don't.

You'll find the same result talking about any combination of thing/gender. When are we going to get over this?

What a silly question. That makes just about as much sense as asking whether or not girls like Super Smash Brothers.
Honestly what is this world coming to.

I realize my comment would have sounded better if the link to the other thread wasn't in the OP.

But yes from my point of view boys do like Fallout 3

Now lets put a cap on this before we start the "Do hermaphrodites like Halo Wars?" Thread

I'd agree with those who say New Vegas is better, but Fallout 3 wasn't bad. It really depends on what kind of gamer you are, not what your sex is. I don't know why there'd be any assumption that the two are related.

The question is a no-brainer (of course some people didn't like it, but it's not because of their sex). Available for most games, except those Barbie games and such

I voted "Yes I'm a girl" despite being a guy (No, really, I am a guy.) because I'd often choose female characters over male characters if there was an option. In Fallout 3/NV, I'd do that a lot.

What... I can't even read the second one.
