I guess it depends on what we are doing. I used to take the bus to school, and I once lost my iPod, so I had no music, and everyone knows that riding a bus with no music is the worst type of torture. So my mind often wondered, and yes, sex was among some of those thoughts, but know when i'm browsing the internet, or playing games, it's not every minute. My short answer is: Only when we are bored

It's hard wired into our basic instinct to live on and continue as a species. Any man who answered no is lying. The reason your conversations always seem to loop back to sex is because it's not hard to think about, it's always in the back of a normal man's mind.

If we thought about sex all the time we would be extinct, it's not good for our survival with we care more about "dat ass" than the lion jumping on our direction.

I see a lot of comments about sex in conversation, but the question isn't do we talk about sex every other minute. It's do we THINK about sex every other minute.

As a 25 year old male, I personally feel that I do spend a rather inordinate amount of time thinking about sex. I know it crosses my mind daily, and usually more than once an hour.

I just figure there's something wrong with me.

Speaking as a guy; often. Every other minute however, no, not by far.

I think it's partly because of how, and how often, women are portrayed in the media. I can't turn on the TV, go outside or even to a website without having smoking hot models writhing all in my face. Seriously, if those advertisements didn't exist everyone would think a lot less about sex.

I can't talk for anyone but myself, but I am pretty sure we've all (males and females) got our priorities and objectives we spend more time thinking about than sex.
Sex is not a primary subject, merely secondary. (For most of us, anyways)

So... No. In fact, there wasn't even for a nanosecond that I thought of sex yesterday. I was busy with other shit.

I don't think so, it's all very situational though, I mean I think that on a SCHOOLBUS, ya you're going to hear that sort of talk a LOT more from your male peers, it may not even be that they're all thinking about the act of having sex but rather are just at an age where it's intriguing/foreign/and funny all at the same time.

Usually, i dont talk that much about sex, unless there is a new sex scandal or something like that ( Wiener this week, schwarzenegger the last..)

What surprise me as a man, is how often innocet thoughts tend to drift towards sex.
I think , to be honest, no friend of mine i havent atleast had sex with twice in my imagination.
And some of my friends are not that good looking.

Daily shopping list: milk , bread, fruit... perhaps some peach... soft juicy peach with the sligh furry texture .... juices dripping... ... ... and so on...

well, you get the idea.

Every minute? Hell no.
I can't even imagine what driving would be like with that happening...

Every time something reminds us? Sure.

Of course we do, everyone does. Sex takes up a large portion of your brain, it's a basic biological function and it's something that you have no control over. You obviously don't think about it consciously all the time, but subconsciously it is present a lot of the time.

This is not restricted to males only, it effects us all.

Oh, and to clarify you're overestimating it. The average is more like every 7-10 minutes.

No we don't.

Reason many think we do is because people read scientific articles without any knowledge about statistics, scientific theory, psychology and neurology. Hell, there's quite a few studies that are actually being conducted by people with no knowledge of the before mentioned things.

If you get a group of men and tell them "For the coming hour just think normal thoughts and then we'll ask you every single minute if you've thought about sex." and then posing the question "Did you think about sex in the past minute?" every single minute. Then yeah.... your results will show men thinking about sex every single minute.

If you do brain imaging on a person and note that the brain region which lights up when thinking about sex lights up every seven seconds chances are that no matter how well formulated your conclusion is some idiot somewhere will conclude that men subconsciously think about sex every seven seconds. (Hint: we don't know what exactly brain regions do, for all we know that region also lights up when we have an itch, hunger or sleep.)
