its not that we thing about sex every couple of minutes but rather that when you look at a 24-hour span of a males life you will find that on average they think about sex every 2 minutes or so. to look at it more plainly you can think about it as men think about sex very few times throughout the day but when they do think about it it tends to be thought about for an extended period of time. for example:

i (as a male) may not think about sex for the first few hours of my day but then the idea slips into my mind and i think about it off-and-on for the next 2 hours which is then fallowed again by three hours of not thinking about sex- so in this 8 hour span i spent 2 hours thinking about sex which equates to me thinking about sex 1 out of every 4 minutes on average; then again, one could also state that i think about sex 1 out of every 4 hours or 1 out of every 4 seconds... its just a way of phrasing your answer, they are all technically right but none are correct

isnt math beautiful?

Don't be ridiculous. If men didn't think about other thinsg that sex every other minute then nothing in the whole history of mankind would have been done by men. It's just logical really.

And it doesn't even apply to when the brain is, for want of a better word, idle. Men are quite capable of thinking about just as many different things as woman.

When I say yes, men do think about sex every other minute, it's not necessarily sex itself. It's more most thoughts which can lead to sex, usually do. We don't think hard about it, it kinda just pops in our head fo a bit then we move on until something else causes us to remember sex.

we think about it a lot, but usually more often when there's girls around.

Also, it's often less "thinking about sex" as much as "thinking about anything sexually related"

None of the guys I talk to talk about sex, it seems like a private matter to me. But I am not going to lie, some days its all I can think about. I hear women talk about it more too.
xD thats something that I have been finding very funny lately. For guys, sex is a more private matter. But with girls, as I have seen and heard on many occasions, talk about sex is a LOT more open. A (douchey) guy might mention having sex with a girl, but it seems a girl will go into complete detail about the sex. And I have a group of (nerdy) female friends, all of which have an obsession with yaoi (gay anime porn, basically..) and they not only very open about it, but they are actively proud about it and will discuss and share it openly (where as in the same situation, a guy would not nearly as easily share and discuss his porn,). I find this open (and obsessive) attitude with (yaoi)porn in girls interesting, and kinda funny

Edit: actually, just earlier today at a grad party, i had to shake my head as a gay friend of mine was showing 2 of my female friends a video on his phone of yaoi porn.. =_= "stop looking at porn at a grad party!" lol

Honestly, not really. Every half hour or so, perhaps. Sometimes more often, if there are attractive women around; sometimes less often, if Minecraft is sucking my soul.

Nope, I've gone three hours without thinking about it at the least. Course I'm done puberty so my hormone levels aren't so wacky. Sex is a big thing for guys sure, but we aren't always thinking about it. We can think about it alot, but it isn't constantly on our mind.

No that is a complete fabrication and a lie, men don?t constantly think about sex. A friend of mine who is a guy is so put off but the idea of a relationship that he can?t even listen to people talk about it. Now if you will excuse me I have some boobs to think about.

I can't speak for everyone, but I certainly don't. I got way to much stuff on my mind between my studies, mindset (thank Christ for Zoloft), games and anime...

To be honest, I think women both think and speak more of sex than men (at least around where I live, it's seriously impossible to talk to a woman around here for more than 30 minutes without sex popping up at least once because she brought it up...). But then again, that seems to be true for about the majority of male students as well, so maybe it's a phase for students normally? *Sigh* Not like I would know anyway, I always keep missing out on the "normal" way to behave. >_>

There have been studies and men do think more about sex then women but no, we don't think about sex every waking moment, it just happens due to lack of conversation and the primal instinct to make sure our lineage hasn't died off.

Depends on the day and the mood. Some days (like if I waking up to my wife picking her clothes out naked) it's almost all I can think about. Other times I can can go up to a week with it barely crossing my mind.

It varies per guy and per day.

As a girl I originally just rolled my eyes when I heard this, but then i recalled back when I still rode the schoolbus and it really did seem that every conversation always looped back to sex or rape. The way I think of it, a person would have to be concentrating really hard on sex to actually think of it that often in a day but then again, I'm not a guy. What do you think about this?
its a myth made up out of misunderstanding a fact, its more of an average.
sometimes you dont think of it at all, sometimes you can go sex sex sex! for hours. kinda thing

No, that's ridiculous popularised feminist propaganda. I know men think about sex a lot but not every minute and anyone who thinks they do loses all credit with me

This is a claim that arose with no research connected to it. The origin of the statement is unknown as far as I know.
I am only one person, but I can confirm that I can go hours or even days without thinking about sex.

Bare in mind that on the school bus you were probably dealing with teenagers.
Hormonal imbalances abound and kids are far more likely to talk about sex and violence more often than adults (I should know, I work with them - the things that come out of their mouths sometimes would shock me if I were still new to this job).

People think a lot about what they really want. They can't help it, it's what they want. Sex is also something (almost) everyone wants, so it's a good common ground to talk about.

As for me? Yeah, I guess I think about sex quite a bit, but if you want to know what I think about all the time it's finding a few quiet minutes to myself without noisy TVs blaring or people needing shit from me.

There is a particular quote that pops in my head whenever I hear this:

"Men on average think about sex once every eight minutes. I make a point
of thinking about sex every four seconds. This makes me one hundred and
twenty times more manly than the rest of you."

I'm not even thinking about it right now, and I've been considering your question and how to answer it for about two minutes.

In other words, no.
