As a girl I originally just rolled my eyes when I heard this, but then i recalled back when I still rode the schoolbus and it really did seem that every conversation always looped back to sex or rape. The way I think of it, a person would have to be concentrating really hard on sex to actually think of it that often in a day but then again, I'm not a guy. What do you think about this?
Short answer: aw, hail naw.

Here's a summary of an hour's thinking:

Hungry bacon sandwich no coke no caffeine homework due when is assignment? Turn in essay story idea should I do some writing? Hungry again, get pretzels, watch Pulp Fiction good movie is that Steve Buscemi? Do some homework German due tomorrow look on screen it's the part where Bruce Willis and random french lady are having SEX do some drawing.

In other words, I--like most guys--only think about sex when it's a natural extension of the topic at hand, or when I'm in an uncommon sort of mood. There's no regularity and very little frequency to it.

Well it's a subconcious desire that doesn't go away, imagine a mild case of constant hunger and the food is really fucking scarce.

You can ignore it but the hunger is always there, and then someone mentions food so it gets even worse... thank you for that.

I don't do it nearly as often, but when I'm a subject to enough stimuli (like being around hot women on the beach or dancefloor) I think about sex so fucking hard that if I was even remotely psychic, I would fuck everything in a 500 mile radius with my brain.
That would be one of the most hilariously useful superpower ever! You will be called (mind fuck)

Well considering I went about 4-5 hours today without thinking about sex on two separate occasions, I would say that is quite inaccurate. Then again it would depend on the person, where he was, and what counts as "thinking about sex". If I look at a woman's cleavage, does that count? What about just looking at her and deciding how pretty I think she is?

Well, not really. You just ran into the bad sort.

Not all guys are like that, just some.
And .... how is thinking about sex bad?

... unless you mean when the OP mentioned they talk about rape? Who on earth are you hanging around with lol?

I am a lady and my thought processes are Food,Sex,Shoes and how can I combine the three. In all seriousness,
I have heard horrific comments come out of men's mouths(which I will not repeat but I can tell you 99% of them are pigs,(cue flaming) BUT remember there are good ones!
If you think about the population that still leaves some that aren't. I think women have too high standards when it comes to men, they need to understand most of what they are saying in a group of friends on the bus is probably just to show off. I think we can all agree kids have no morals these days.
As it has already been raised I wont talk about the science of why men have these thoughts, but when watching TV these days is like watching porn anyway, who can blame us ladies or men for being horny?

Even at my horniest teen moments, no. Admittedly, a lot of things could remind me of sexual things, but it was nowhere near every minute or so.

I didn't think about it all day, and I still wouldn't have if you didn't make this thread.

I keep hearing these "studies" as well. Pretty sure it's a mathematical trick. Men think about sex **on average*** once a minute. I got two theories on it.

As a guy, my train of thought isn't "Gee this game is good", "I should check up on work", "I should call -- Oh it's another minute. Wouldn't it be nice to have sex now -- my boss". My thoughts tend to stay on topic in relation to what I'm doing but that said, if I'm not really doing anything engaging, like walking down the street and I see a gorgeous girl, the thought is going to cross my mind and may stay there for a little while. Therefore, I may think of sex for anywhere from 1 minute to even an hour straight (pretty self explanatory why someone would think about it for up to an hour) , which may accumulate to an average of once every minute.

The other theory would revolve around I guess the "physical symptoms" of thinking about sex. Take how frequent adolescent and adult males can be aroused and for how long (including during their sleep), if that's what these studies count as "thinking about sex", then I'm sure once a minute on average is plausible.

I'm going to say no, but I did hear this on a Christian channel once: A chaste and holy man was once asked if temptations of the flesh ever go away. His response was "Three days after you're buried".

It's kinda hard to explain.

We don't always think about sex, but subcosciously, our minds check if what were thinking about relates to sex, and if so we think about it. also there's a sex thought threshhold that makes us think about sex after a certain level of thought no matter what subject is on our minds lol. could be toast, and toast isn't really related to sex.

Hooray for retarded gender stereotypes/generalizations. I'm a girl and I think about sex every other minute. So who cares if guys think about sex that often? Seriously. Who cares?

Some do.

Turns out men are varied. They have different personalities and thought patterns. You know, much like women. Because both are people.
Actually, all of the most grotesquely lascivious people I have ever known were women. So make of that what you will.
