As a girl I originally just rolled my eyes when I heard this, but then i recalled back when I still rode the schoolbus and it really did seem that every conversation always looped back to sex or rape. The way I think of it, a person would have to be concentrating really hard on sex to actually think of it that often in a day but then again, I'm not a guy. What do you think about this?
its complete nonsense, I think about sex briefly maybe 3-4 times a week....

Now ask me how often I think about computer games.

Even when a guy thinks he's not thinking about it, he is. Especially if there's women nearby. It's just the way nature made us, in times before civilization, a man was to reproduce and provide, we can't escape that, even today.

I had a solid 30 minutes thinking about ice cream last night, followed by 2 hours of thinking of how fat I was getting and not getting sex.

So yeah, I think not.

Maybe if men *do* think about sex every other minute it's one of those "Only in America" things.

Because I'm pretty sure the rest of the world has more pressing issues that concern men than this.

If 'think about sex' is the equivalent of having 'impure thoughts'...then yes, pretty much every time I'm in the presence of woman regardless of age or appropriateness. As such, these thoughts come up all the time throughout any given day. I'm not one to socialized about it as such thoughts can be objectifying if not offensive.

However, most of my time spent at home alone does not involve such thoughts. Hobbies such as D&D and gaming seldom lead me to think about sex (odd because gaming constantly tries to sell sex in its male and female characters), but rather keep my focus on the activity at hand.

I should also note that I constantly have sarcastic and jerk-like thoughts along with everything that takes place around me as well. This is just the way I think, versus, the way I actually act. Like seeing an elderly lady carrying a food and having the sudden random urge to throw the food onto the windshield of an oncoming car. Of course I'd never actually do something like that...but thoughts or comedic quotes from media constantly go through my head while in public...and far more frequently than the above impure thoughts.

Oh dear God. You were on a schoolbus, which means that you were dealing with an early-adolescence level of maturity/curiosity, not an adult one. Only cynics and twits suggest that we think about sex every 6 seconds or whatever, even during puberty, the same kind of dipshits who think that people only use 10% of our brains (the brain is highly specialized, so we only use about 10% of it at a time, but a split second later, we're using a different part of it).

Alone, unless something triggers it guys don't unless their obsessed with it. Generally most guys actually think about it anywhere from 0-5 times a day.

It's not true. I don't remember exactly what brought about this number (I knew what the math from the study was once, but I've forgotten), but I think it may have something to do with thinking more about it (a longer continuous period) than averaging it over the entire day, but I can't remember for sure, sorry.

Sometimes, I feel like I think about sex more than a lot of guys I know... I don't know if it's different for females, but I definitely think about it fairly often. Mind you, it's not just the act, but sex I've-

Not the idea of sex but sex I've had before and like to wistfully reflect on.

I believe Norm Macdonald said it best. We (men) don't think about sex all the time, but when it gets in our head, it's all we think about. As a guy, I can go hours and hours without thinking about sex, depending on what else I'm doing and thinking about. I also believe it has a lot to do with age, such as the older I get the less important it seems to be.

It's rather annoying, but yes. I never talk about it though. I hope it stops someday, I'm 20 now and it really gets on my nerves.
