for superman trades i recommend all star superman. Its what i believe to be the best take on the character.

just a friendly suggestion. From a fellow reader :)
Cheers, man! I've actually looked into buying it but I've watched the animated movie and thought it was a bit of a let-down. Still, I've heard nothing but great things about the comic so I'm still gonna buy it soon

I'll pick one up if I find something interesting. I like my art on the pretty side, though, so that rules out alot. ;)
No superheroes for me though, thanks.

I read The Watchmen and though it deserved every bit of praise it garnered.
I read the first volume of Fables and was intrigued and wanted to know more about the world.
I read the first volume of The Sandman and was blown away. I loved it and can't wait to read more.

Unfortunately I like reading novels too, and the price is something like this:

$7 for 20+ hours of entertainment with a novel (or $0 if I go to the library)
$20 for about 3 hours of entertainment with a volume of a comic book

The price difference is so vast I just can't bring myself to consistently purchase comics. I wish I lived in a world where comic trading was more prevalent - but my significant other and myself are the only ones I know that read comic books.

Yup. Not often since most series I like turn to shit but still occasionally.
I just hate when people refer to comics as "graphic novels"...
Comics is the wrong term though, what with it suggesting a comedy. Most superhero comics nowadays come closer to being tragedies. Would 'tragics' work as a name? That sounds way too melodramatic.

Anyway, yes, I read them.

Yeah, I read Walking Dead, various Star Wars comic series, Haunt, Spawn and any miniseries that take my fancy. If anything, I spend too much on comics.

I've read a few comic books..mainly marvel.
The ones I've read are:
Planet Hulk
Hulk at War
Civil War
Captain America Reborn
All pretty good.
try kingdom come.
Aside from having some of the best artwork (its all physically painted) in modern comic books. Its a brilliantly told tale. Needing no exterior knowledge of the characters.

it basically answers the question why don't superhero's physically deal with the supervillians. Maturely handled and a very good read.
I'll give it a looky, but the problem is that I've never really liked the heroes in the DC universe, nor the villains minus the ones that Batman deals with, because they seem to be the more interesting ones...but fuck it anything that gives me a good read I'll be up for.
