Poll: Do prefer western or eastern animation?

I actually dig shows that combines eastern animation with western animation, like this one.

I liked Ergo Proxy's look more...
it has that similar Renaissance look to it but mixed with CyberPunk and Post-Apocalypse punk too...
OT: I enjoy both though most of my favorites are Eastern...

Hmmm good intro, that anime was on my list for a really long time but I didnt want to watch it cuz it sorta looks depressing...

it is a little when it start off but it lightens up quite a bit. I'm working on a review for it right now if you wanna check it out when I'm done...
it also has a kickass ending too...

Wow thats pretty cool, and from looking at old threads people have said its a good anime.

yeah I kept on procrastinating at first but than I heard the ending theme so I had to watch it... I love Radiohead... but Funimation posted all the episodes on youtube...

It depends.
There are good western and good eastern animations.
There's bad western and bad eastern animations.
However, Anime (eastern) has more serious things to offer then Western animation does.

That's the one thing that annoys me about a lot of Western animation, most of it is cartoons. Family Guy, The Simpsons, Futurama for TV, and stuff like Toy Story for movies. I mean there's nothing wrong with cartoons or anything, but anime definitely seems to have more variety then Western animation.

That's European animation(also note the title of the video) which is in an entirely different matter.

OP: I'm not really an anime fan so I would have to say I like western animations better.

Depends, personally I think the 'Eastern Style' is better, overall.

However, there are some great 'Western Style' products that come out (Toy Story 3, for example).

Agreed, I also prefer the eastern styles, if only for the fact I have seen very little western animation.
I also tend to like the story/plot of eastern over western, but that is just preference I guess.

I hate to put such a short answer, but; It really depends on the show.

There are good and bad shows from each.

Eastern due to I've only ever liked 3 western ones (Titan: AE, Quest for Camelot and The iron giant).
