From this list, my favorite would definitely be the PS1. Playing PS1 games on a PS2 always feels lacking by comparison, just because it doesn't have that nice bass hit at the beginning. Out of the stuff that's not on the list, It's almost definitely the one from
While searching through the archives to find it, I also came on the Windows 3.1 startup sound. It's incredible given that the OS is not all that much younger than I am, but that one brings up memories too.
What can I say? I've always been a PC gamer at heart, even during periods when my PC was so outdated I had no choice but the consoles. If MSDOS had a start up sound, that would probably be the one that I picked above all others -- since, you know, all the best games at the time required booting into DOS mode.

Christ, I feel really bloody old right now. Why aren't the Atari, NES, SNES, Sega MasterSystem or Megadrive (Genesis) on the list for we codgers?
I understand where you're coming from Jaythulu, but none of those systems had start up sounds the way the 32 bit generation forward did -- well, the Sega CD did, but not the Genesis/Megadrive proper, or any of the other systems at the time. The closest I can think of is the "Licensed By" text that played when one put in a licensed cartridge, as the main "SEGA" logo that we all remember was actually contained on the cartridge, and varied by the game. The same would go for all of the other systems, but I can't for the life of me remember one of those having even as much consistency on start up as the Genesis.
