The cartridge logo screen sounds don't count? Sorry, my mistake, I wasn't quite following. My SMS always played the SEGA loop when it first booted, but from your info I'm guessing that was from the built-in Alex Kidd cartridge, and not the console itself?Owyn_Merrilin said:I understand where you're coming from Jaythulu, but none of those systems had start up sounds the way the 32 bit generation forward did -- well, the Sega CD did, but not the Genesis/Megadrive proper, or any of the other systems at the time. The closest I can think of is the "Licensed By" text that played when one put in a licensed cartridge, as the main "SEGA" logo that we all remember was actually contained on the cartridge, and varied by the game. The same would go for all of the other systems, but I can't for the life of me remember one of those having even as much consistency on start up as the Genesis.
