Am I doing it right?
That right there is a topic ender

No it's simply a case of how easily someone is influenced by games - if they decide to copy something in a game to see if it's fun, well that's just natural selection thinning out the dumb then

No they don't. There has to be something wrong with the person beforehand.

Besides, i've got less violent after playing violent video games. I believe that violent game/movies and other violent forms of media are just a scapegoat for politicians and journalists to place the blame on.

Also, i think the graph above pretty much proves that no, no they don't cause violent behaviour.

Like 80% or more of the population plays video games...people just try to use video games as an excuse to their violent behavior

chances are that they were already violent and playing a violent video game wouldnt make much of a difference... to me violent video games are some what calming when im in a bad mood so i think its the opposite in some cases

While there is a correlation between violent kids and violent games, there is no way to tell if this is because the games made them that way( unlikely the number of children that play these games and are not violent) or because violent kids have a predisposition to violent games. The same is true of every other media: TV, movies, etc. I'm inclined to believe the latter of the two myself.

I think that it can magnify violent people?s tendencies. If someone is already messed up or violent they can cling to video games in an unhealthy fashion.
Just like they can say? cling to a Beatles song Helter-Skelter? the book catcher in the rye? or Jodie Foster?s love.
Any media can affect someone who is already unhealthy pretty easily. Video Games are no different.

It depends on the person , but tvideogames are highly unlikely to cause violent behavior in anyone ,however games like ther rainbow six series can lead to some people to yell pretty much every explicative under the sun at the top of your voice

Seriously? No.
If I was going to kill someone, and I just might, I was going to do it with or without video games.
This.

I'm so sick of people thinking that video games are to blame.

Let me cite an actual source, Steven Pinker's: The Blank Slate, a book on evolutionary psychology and say that for the most part the answer is no.

While violent media can cause a temporarily enhanced afinity for violence amongst adolescents, studies show that they do not affect violence in overall and long term development. The only case in which a video game would be likely to incite violence is if it acted as a trigger mechanism for an individual who was psychologically predisposed to violent behavior.

No not really. Most murders tend to be because of a reason between the victim and the killer, not many are just random. If they are random then they may like violent games because of their habit of killing/violence etc. not that they were inspired by them. The only thing that could effect then would be the way they acted, imitating favourite characters etc. But then TV and other media sources would also contribute.

Ive always firmly believed they dont. The violent videogames dont influence the kids, the parents do. If a child is influenced by a videogame, that just shows how poorly their parents are raising them in my opinion. If something as insignificant as a videogame influences a kid, then you know something is wrong with the parenting.
