Having to say when i first got my Wii i was like this is the best in the world but then after i got my PLaystation i just kinda stoped playing it because not enough good games were comming out for it. Also most of the people that play the Wii are from about 10-15 and 30-60 so most of them do not reasearch much of there games on the internet

I think the Wii has the most potential for original games. It's sad that the popularity of the thing means it gets so much gimmicky shovelware.

I'm a bit of a Nintendo fanboy, as I am a Bioware fanboy. The Wii however is suffering from a lack of good games. The last game I bought for the Wii was SSBB, which was over 2 years ago. I'm waiting for a new Metroid game and the new Super Mario Galaxy 2, actual games, not the 90% shovel ware crap the Wii has now.
I'm not going to deny it. You are right that the wii's library has too many shit games and not enough good games, but you are obviously not looking hard enough.

No more Heroes
Okami
Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess
Red Steel
Red Steel 2
No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle
Muramasa:The Demon Blade
New Super Mario Bros. Wii
Metroid Prime Trilogy
Tales of graces
Elebits
Rayman Raving Rabids
Tatsunoko vs Capcom
A Boy and His Blob
Madworld
Klonoa

Yes, I have most of those, but what I mean is, considering how long the Wii has been out, there is a very poor selection of good games in terms of numbers.

Yes, there are such people. I know one of them.

He's irritating when I'm looking at games he'll never play, casually glancing over my shoulder and exclaiming "Great, ANOTHER FPS!". I'm reserved enough not to respond, but he's started to diss Mass Effect 2. This I will not stand for.

I'm sure the Wii is a great deal of fun, don't get me wrong on that...

Oh yeah, they exist. There's actually quite a lot of them. Though usually they're little kids who think they know everything and would probably be fanboys of the xbox or ps3 if that's the console their mom decided to buy them.

It's good enough for me, and better than what the other two consoles have to offer that I can see (By better, I obviously mean "I looked at the games and found the Wii's ones the most interesting")

There's also:
Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
Super Paper Mario (well, I liked it!)
Mario Kart Wii
Lostwinds
Every Gamecube game ever made
A good selection of games from NES, SNES and N64, as well as other old non-Nintendo consoles that I can't name off the top of my head

And almost certainly others that I can't think of right now, but I haven't yet woken up completely.

What's most important to understand the "Wii fanboy" (defined here as "someone who, given the choice, would pick a Wii over any of the other consoles), at least those like me, is that first of all we look at the actual game selection. We dismiss the shovelware as beneath our notice, as it should be because, let's face it, the existence of shovelware doesn't preclude the existence of gems. The second point is that, upon comparing those games which we would actually buy given the chance, we find the Wii to be preferable. Obviously, given that it's a Nintendo console, being a fan of the major Nintendo franchises (the production of which, incidentally, has not slowed down in the slightest despite ubiquitous cries of abandonment) is a big help.

There's obviously going to be the deluded fanboys amongst them who swear that the Wii has better graphics than the PS3 (I knew someone who attested just this fact), but that's hardly any different from the rabid fanboys of any other console. It's basically just like the other two in terms of who would buy it, really: People who look at the game selection and are pleased.

Of course, there's people who will stick their fingers in their ears and deny that shovelware exists on the Wii, but they're far outnumbered in my experience by the people who stick fingers in their ears and deny that the Wii is a games console.

OP: There you are. An explanation for why people would prefer the Wii over the other consoles. That is to say, because they like the games better. I hope this isn't too alien a concept for the more hardcore among us.

When it first came out but not anymore, didn't take long to notice it is flawed as hell and most games that came with controls have shit all depth.

Still like Mario though but these new Zelda, Metroid, Starfox, etc. games have lost me. Well actually the New Super Mario Brothers is pathetic, guess I'll just say I'm only a fan of their old stuff, not going to buy their consoles anymore if they keep doing this.

I think they do exist but then again it would be safer to lump them into Nintendo fan boys. Since it's more about those who mark their calenders for Shigeru Miyamoto saying something about Mario and Zelda. And of course buy the games in bulk.
