There's bound to be more life than us out in the vast universe - and if space truly is endless there should also be tons of worlds identical to our own.

Doubt we'll make contact either way though. Not until we discover something that can travel at the speed of light without killing off the passengers/space ship which I can't see ever happening.

It's unlikely that there's not at least a couple of bacteria out there somewhere. Green men hanging around shoving probes up peoples asses? Doubt it.

Mathematically, it's quite unlikely that we are the only intelligent life - let alone the only life - in this universe. So I can say that yes, I am convinced that "we are not alone".
Our galaxy, the milky way, alone has up to 300 billion stars. That's 300,000,000,000. Now if only every tenth star has planets, that's still 30,000,000,000 (30 billion). Now if one in every thousand solar systems would have life, that would still be 30,000,000 (30 million) systems. Now if one of every thousand systems with a planet with life sports intelligent life, that would still be 30,000 (30 thousand) systems and thus civilizations.

And that's in our galaxy alone. At the moment 50 billion (50,000,000,000) galaxies are observable from earth, each with several billions of stars in them...
Heck, even if only every millionth galaxy had one single planet bearing intelligent life, it would still amount to 50 thousand civilizations.

On the other hand, I don't believe in the "grays" visiting us and cover up conspirations. As any life form would have to adhere to the same physics as we do, it's just not feasable that they would travel here, or even have remote contact.
While I agree with everything you said, our knowledge of physics isn't complete, so there might still be facets we don't know about, but other civilisations do.

have they been here? I doubt it

What? Of course!

In all seriousness, why not? Apparently things CAN live out there, that there are planets that can. It's a big flipping universe, man. It's not unreasonable.

Mathematics makes it inevitable, but as for alien abduction stories and all that mythos I don't feel there's anything to it. Intelligent life wouldn't have any conceivable interest in contacting Earth anyway.

I believe (maybe, I'm not crazy or stupid enough to believe anything absolutely) what we term as Aliens are actually inter-dimensional beings who live not in the spaces we recognize, but between. A different dimensional overtone, if you will. But then, that's what I think most "Gods" are also.

Then there are the caves in italy, the pyramids, etc...I read Chariots of the Gods last year, found it quite enlightening.

Of course I do. If this planet can be able to sustain life, I'm sure there are other planets out there that can too.

Eventually we will come upon another planet able to sustain life. If there is life present is another matter, but it is ignorant to deny the possibility.

Seriously, who answers no to this? With how enormous the universe is, it's almost an impossibility for aliens to not exist. Even if you're religious, how egotistical do you have to be to assume that we're the only life forms that your deity would create when they have something as large as the universe to work with? As far as I'm aware nowhere in any religious text does it say that humans and this planet are the only things that were created.

Now, if the question is "are we ever going to meet them" then the answer is probably no, especially given our current understanding of science and technology. But whether or not they exist should be an obvious yes.

You'd have to be insane to think there isn't any life out there. Our galaxy is a measly 100k light years and contains countless stars and planets. Which is a lot, till you realize there's billions of galaxies and a lot of them dwarf our own. (5million light years anyone?). We're a atom of a grain of sand in a desert, and that's grossly over estimating our size in the universe. Probably more like a quark.

Why haven't any made contact? Well besides the simple fact space is in-comprehensively massive there's a scientist, (I forgot his name..) he had a brilliant analogy for humans and intelligent aliens who can travel through space...

"Do you stop and try to communicate with ants? No they're too primitive to comprehend anything you do and that's the level we're on." more or less saying if any intelligent life did cross our solar system they'd sooner ignore us then try and talk to us low tech morons who constantly bicker among eachother and bomb our own people.

i think you would have to be insane not to tbh, the drakes equation is a good thing to look at if your unsure about the subject. its a way of working out the probability of life being elsewhere in the universe

oh also when i say i do believe in aliens im talking about other life in the universe not little greys abducting people

aghhh someone beat me to it..
Yes aliens exist as proven by the drake equation (from wikipedia) I think i put the number of other civilizations in the universe like ours to be about 11. I used our solar system and A LOT of assumptions to get that number.
The Drake equation states that:

N=R^*X fp X ne X FL X FI x FC x L

where:

N = the number of civilizations in our galaxy with which communication might be possible;

and

R* = the average rate of star formation per year in our galaxy
fp = the fraction of those stars that have planets
ne = the average number of planets that can potentially support life per star that has planets
fℓ = the fraction of the above that actually go on to develop life at some point
fi = the fraction of the above that actually go on to develop intelligent life
fc = the fraction of civilizations that develop a technology that releases detectable signs of
their existence into space
L = the length of time for which such civilizations release detectable signals into space.

It would take an extremely narrow minded individual not to believe in aliens to be honest. Trillions of stars, at least one of them will have intelligent life.

Aliens as in other lifeforms in planets that are not the Earth? Yes. And I'm pretty sure mankind is gonna discover viable life forms within this century, seeing the progress that is being made.

Aliens as in UFO's and rednecks sights? Hell no, that's almost as stupid as believing in an omnipotent being that created the univer... uh wait I'll stop here before I start a debate that should not be started in this topic

I think so, yes.
But what if i'm wrong and in all the infinite space in all the universe we are the only life form, but larger then that what if all in all the parallel universes we are the one unique thing about this one. So not only are we alone in this universe but the only intelligent life in all universes... total crushing loneliness. Now thats emptiness for you.

I don't believe this but food for thought never the less.
