If someone starts a fight with me, I will screw them up by any means necessary. And I don't start fights, so put those two together and you should easily see that my answer will always be yes.
I am a pacifist, I don't start fights, and I hate fighting, but if someone forces me into a fight or attacks me, I will do what I need to to end it. They started it, they lose their right to a fair fight.

No.

I take the punch like a man, get back up, and fight. Obviously this man has military training if he's fighting me AND is better the me, so there's a code there.

Or, alternatively, I dont bother. The man is winding up, he left himself open. If I want to be unfair, then I'll ante up, pull out the knife I usually carry, get in close, ducking under the punch, or letting it glance off for the least amount of damage and stab the bastard. you drop pretty quick when your blood pressure drops.

Towards the rule itself, I dont believe in it. Thats a low blow, and shouldnt be used. If you're not going to win fair, dont bother to win at all. Or at least if you're gonna cheat, make it so no one questions it and the guy learns his lesson.

.... Its alot like rings really. In my neighborhood, you dont wear rings in a fight (if you're curious why, well... go get in a fight against someone with rings), and if you do, thats considered below the belt and free reign for all hell to break loose has been given.

Option 1;
Run.

Option 2;
Kick him in balls, then run.

Either way, I'm getting my ass outta there as soon as possible.

Doesn't the rule only apply to properly sanctioned fights(boxing and the like). In a street fight anything is fair game and if kicking some dude in the balls stops me getting my ass kicked then I'll have no problem doing it(more than once if necessary)
Please read my post above. If someone engages you in a street fight assume they are armed and just run. I've been "accidentally" hit in the balls in tons of sanctioned fights and it normally only pisses me off. There was one time when someone got a clean hit on me (he was 150 pounds 5% body fat and actually had proper kneeing form so probably harder than you would ever kick) and I only had to kneel down for 15 seconds before I could fight again.

It's a very well protected part of the body so even if you get a clean hit and not a glancing blow. They are gonna beat the holy fuck out of you after you try.

If your in a serious situation where for some reason you couldn't run or find a weapon I would try to gouge their eyes out. If the groin was seriously a weak point than we would've evolved a way to protect it.
The last time it happened to me, I wasn't expecting it, wasn't even fighting. Just walking past someone who then punched me in the balls. Due to the shock, I went down like a ton of bricks.

The time before that, I was having a not very serious fight with a friend, who "accidentally" kneed me there. Went with the pain, jumped at him when he took the opportunity to run and punched him in the face, in space of about three seconds. FRIENDSHIP XD
Yea I think thats where the myth of getting hit in the balls started. If your not expecting it, your nuts are an exposed organ so even if they are even just cherry tapped when your not expecting it. It. sucks. balls.

But, when your body knows it's fighting if we had a glaring weak spot how would we have gotten to the top of the food chain. I've never heard of someone being hospitalized from being kicked in the nuts. I know plenty of people who have broken ribs and the like to under arm punches though. That is something really dirty and if your practicing with someone it's generally polite to just tell them they left under their armpit open to attack cause you can right fuck someone up with a hit to there.

After you punched your friend in the face you shoulda kicked him in the nuts back. To reinforce the FRIENDSHIP 0_-

My father always taught me that you only fight when two conditions have been met.

1. All other options have been expended.

2. You are willing to get arrested, and possibly sent to jail.

He further taught me that if those two conditions have been met... why hold back? You've run out of options and you obviously loathe who you're fighting. The time for discretion has passed.

At that point, getting kicked in the balls is the least of the guys issues. Right behind pieces of rebar, cinder blocks, and the 4 foot crowbar in my back seat.

Alright I updated my post with

"I realize that a kick in the balls is not the "I win" button. We'll assume that it IS an "I win" button for the scenario." I would just like to see if, with the presented scenario, you would take it.

Well, I don't get into fights, but in the circumstance you describe, I would say anything is fair game. It's all about self-preservation, and it's not like it would be a fair fight anyway.
This, I'm not the sort of person who goes around looking for fights so I'd only end up in one if my opponent was being unreasonably aggressive, so I'd be within my rights to do anything to stave them off. Evidently this wouldn't apply if it was just a "play" fight with a friend.

Heck yes, if a monster like that attacked me I would have little qualms in smashing his testes into paste. I'm not they type of person that ever looks for fights so I would be safe to do so.

Well, I don't know the literal name of the rule, but basically it states, when fighting, you never hit below the other person's waistline.

So heres a scenario:

You were out at some bar late at night. There was a misunderstanding with the really big guy next to you, next thing you know, you're out in the parking lot fighting. Not only is this guy huge, but he really knows how to fight and is much better than you. He winds up to deal a blow that you just know would knock you out instantly and there is no way for you to dodge it. He made a mistake however, and leaves his groin area wide open. If you kick him there, he won't land the blow, and you would have basically won. Do you go for the opportunity?

I, personally, would. Being knocked out is not very fun.

Edit: Added a few more options to the poll
Edit2: I realize that a kick in the balls is not the "I win" button. We'll assume that it IS an "I win" button for the scenario.
I've seen a guy kicked in the crotch TWICE at full force by a pro fighter and he kept fighting and won. I wouldn't do it, ESPECIALLY not against someone stronger than me who knows how to fight better. If it doesn't KO him instantly (and there's a very good chance it won't) I've just doubled my own asskicking. Really, there are very few situation in which it's a good idea to kick a dude in the balls. There are MUCH safer and more effective ways for a smaller person to defend himself/herself.

Him going down so I can experience as little pain as possible is the objective, so prepare to get your nut busted, your nose, ears or other non-phallic extremities bitten and meeting many objects with your face.

Just as I am about to kick him, I remember that violence doesn't solve anything and run away.

In a fair fight, No i wouldn't hit below the belt. Seeing as this isn't a fair fight, below the belt kinda evens the odds.

In dier need, THAT'S MY PURSE!

Sure, there's honor and stuff like that, but in a straight up fight it remains an option, because not doing so can result in great harm to oneself. More than likely I would never get into a situation where I had to fight somebody out of my league. But even while growing up, in fights I have been in a nut shot didn't really come to mind.

I've dropped people with one swift kick to the side of the ribs. It's about as easy as going for the groin, will take down a lot of people, and there's no honor loss.

However, I have learned one thing from schoolyard fights. Don't deal anything you are not willing to take. I resorted to spitting when I was jumped by 2 kids and one of them spit quite a lot of saliva at me in return. Strange day. Literally was clotheslined by someone I didn't even know when he came by to grab a ball.

I've only ever been in a few fights luckily, and always came out on top by ending it as quickly and clinically as possible.

Groin, jaw and floating ribs all tend to wrap things up, and the former leaves less lasting damage to the guy, so it's usually a good option.

A pub fight isn't a tickling competition, these guys are out to hurt you. You put him down in the fastest way you can.

The below the belt rule relates to mutual fights and day to day living. Self-preservation is a different story.

Well... I just don't do that. Fighting over words is idiotic. Let anyone think what they will, I'm not going out to that parking lot. If he lays hands on me in the bar, I'd escalate things immediately and go for a maiming strike. If things get serious, I'll have to pull my .45. I'm a firm believer in a polite, armed society.
That's just how I am. If it's not worth killing for, it's not worth fighting for.

**edit**
I just realized how bloodthirsty that makes me sound... I really do defuse things with words, though. I've had to use the line "What'll it be? Pistols at ten paces, then? I brought mine." before... it worked.
