I doubt that there is Alien life on another planet in our solar system, we probably would have seen it by now.

But its unreasonable to believe that we are the only living things in the universe and Earth is the only planet that can support life.

Not sure, but if anyone here has seen Fire in the Sky its pretty creepy.. its a documentary of some guys who saw their friend got abducted and he showed up a week later all messed up in the head and naked by some gas station miles away and all of them took the lie detector and it said they were telling the truth.
Because we all know that lie detectors work all the time.

And that conspiracy theorists will definitely not do anything, even lie, to make themselves heard.
Because 5 hillbillys who have jobs, families, and friends have nothing better to do than study how to cheat a lie detector? And I'd like to see you cheat one >.>
Considering that it's just as likely that a lie detector could find an innocent but nervous person guilty of a crime, I hardly think that they're a reliable source of information.

There are a million other galaxies out there, each with billions of stars. To say that we are the only life in the universe is incredibly arrogant and small-minded.

That being said, I think that the surest sign that there is intellegent life out there is that is has made no efforts to contact us. (no, I don't believe that the UFO sightings are real)

There'd have to be life somewhere else in this universe. Just think about it ... we're just through some random chance the ONLY world with anything alive. Laughable. And quite arrogant, even from a solitary creationist theory.

And didn't the Vatican recently go OTR stating "We won't discount that extra-terrestrials exist, and it will not affect the belief." While not a Catholic, or religious person at all, thats a big step. Follow that up with several world governments releasing photos, videos, documents etc. of their secret dossiers of UFOs/otherworldly life. Though the US can't really go back on all their years of secrecy.

Your title and actual poll are not the same question. To answer the question posed in the title: yes, I believe in UFOs. There are certainly Unidentified Flying Objects out there. I see things in the sky almost every day that I am not able to positively identify. I guess that would make them a UFO in the strictest sense of the term. There have certainly been plenty of reports, many by seemingly ordinary (non kooky) people, including astronauts, pilots etc. The governments of many countries have gone to great lengths to discredit and cover up reports of some of these UFOs so some of them might be experimental craft.

As to the second question posed in the actual poll: maybe. I'm far from convinced that there is actually any life on other planets. I wouldn't be totally surprized if we did find actual proof of it, but I've yet to see anything to convince me of it.

i think there MUST be aliens out there, i doubt that they would be superadvanced enough to have flying saucers, ships that totally defy gravity.

The problem is that the thread title and the poll question aren't the same.
I do believe in life on other planets but I don't believe that UFO's (as in flying saucers) are here.

Do they exist in a distant galaxy somewhere on the other side of the universe? yes, it would be foolish to think we are the only intelligent life in the entire universe. Out of the trillions of galaxies, containing trillions of stars, many of which would have a solar system, at least one planet out there would have to support intelligent life.

Do they secretly visit Earth in the dead of night and have their way with drunken rednecks? no, no they do not.

Abductions don't happen, they are the result of a strange thing called dreams.

Agreed. It's a statistical probability that there exists life on other planets, simply because the number of exoplanets is so large, that even the microscopic probability of developing intelligent life would mean that there are several planets in the universe containing life forms. From a scientific viewpoint one could almost go as far as to say that it would be to use faulty logic to state otherwise.

I DON'T believe that aliens have ever visited this planet. So I don't 'believe' in UFOs

On the other hand, I think it is practically a statistical certainty that life exists elsewhere in the universe. Most will be basic, but it's possible that some will be intelligent like us.

EDIT: see last 2 posts :p

But religion is good, it teaches us moral, ideas, life lessons.

Think of a world without religon, I think of Rapture, no morals are will have you jump into great leaps of science of study, however we need morals to give us a second thought.

More people in Rapture should have practiced faith, did anyone notice the cargo of bibles, that I take it was counted as illegal in Rapture.(correct me if i am wrong)

But if they are anything like us, they will see one error in our ways which will disturb them, something small and petty or either try to convert us, or try to kill us. However I feel like we will/cannot make peace with other aliens in our current thought train as a whole, unless they already had a beaurcracy etc. like in Mass Effect.
religion doesnt teach morals. not long ago the Pope came out and said homosexuality is wrong. thats not very moral. just about every war, ever, can be blamed on religion. is war moral because someone has different beliefs to you. also your taking your examples from games, with storylines that have been MADE UP (like the bible), so either way i couldnt take your post seriously even if you had a good point.

back on topic. i do beleive there are aliens out there. there are millions of planets out thee and it's surely impossible for our one to be the only inhabited one. however i don't know whether any of them are advanced enough to have full on spaceships they could use to come to earth and anal probe us.

Right here we go, my logical reasoning behind UFO's.

The universe is huge to an extent where we cannot imagine its vastness. Using basic probability life will probably exist somewhere. However chances are it will iether be stupid, single celled, or very very very basic- talking invertabrates and some simple plants. Because i believe the universe started at one point in the big bang, planets nearer the centre will have existed for longer, meaning that if life was on these planets then it would have been around and therefor evolving for longer. because of this we can assume there is intellegent life out there.
BUT and this is a massive but people, the distances involved to make these beings actually visit us would make the amount of energy needed to traverse it astronomically huge.

I do believe in aliens OUT THERE somewhere (not little green men just other life basic or otherwise) But not UFO's. All the retarded testing and abducting would make no sense given the circumstances. Why travel 2000 light years to shove a probe into some wierd creature they found. If aliens visited earth we would know about it, end. If their ships entered the atmoshpere we would see the heat build up like a comet.

UFO's- No
Life- yes

I don't. The requirement for life as we know it is incredibly huge. In the trillions of stars we've discovered, we've only discovered 11 planets outside of our own solar system, meaning to me that planets are few and far between.

We also know that we need sufficient quantities of all sorts of elements. But that's not all: I also think it's hard to believe because of how unbelievably random of an occurrance life forms under.

If there's any reason to believe in Creation, it's the fact that the odds of any life ever occurring on its own are one in almost infinity. We've actually tried many, many, many times to create life from everyday elements, but it just doesn't happen that easily. For life to exist, you need to have atoms and molecules that actually want to survive. How hard is that to process?
