Depends on who I'm talking to. I feel like an idiot when I write correctly when I'm talking to some guy writing like a douchebag... So I guess sometimes I get sucked into writing like a douchbag just to avoid looking like a douchebag to that individual douchebag.
But it's pretty much a given that I'll write properly every other time.

Proper English and punctuation should be used on and off the internet. People these days are just getting either lazy or stupid. So to answer your question, yes I do use proper punctuation on the internet.

But then that douchebag would probably feel like an even BIGGER douchebag for writing like a douchebag in the first place. Just stand your ground and those douchebags will fold underneath you =D
Plus, then you look like a douchebag to everybody else :p

I'm mor'a stickler for punctuation than grammar'n syntax.
'Pends on context tho.
There's an ocean of difference between IM/IRC, gaming forums and work space email.

i will write full words and try my best to spell them correctly but i never learned to do English punctuation correctly and my native language doesn't have a proper written form so i am forever getting chewed out by grammar Nazis so i just ignore them

Yeah, I usually do. It's just easier for people to read.
Completely unrelated to anything in this thread, but you have the best avatar ever.

On topic: Yeah, I do. All the time, in fact. It makes things a lot easier for anyone readng what I write.
Well, XJ-0461 is pretty cool too.

i am very irritated with the illegibility of some people (see Youtube comments)and their surprising inability to write coherent sentences; so I ask you, do you bother writing properly on the internet?
Oh, and yes, I did read the forum guidelines on this sort of thing..
You realise that ".." means nothing? It's either a full stop "." or an ellipsis "...".

And yes, I hate how people write on the internet. It's always the ones with the poor punctuation and grammar that have the most ridiculous arguments too.

I've been called an idiot on Yahoo! news stories before by people who can't even spell "idiot". (If you're wondering why, it's normally because I'm one of the only people on there who doesn't support the BNP.)

Both, I guess.

Sometimes when you are saying silly things, it is funnier to leave out punctuation and caps.
Sort of like,

no that is not what i said stop being silly

When the rest of what you have said is properly punctuated, it makes people read the unpunctuated sentence a certain way.
Or, at least, it makes me do so.

Absolutely. I almost never use silly online abbreviations, and I always attempt to use proper spelling, grammar and punctuation.

Yes. Even in texts, I spell everything correctly and make it as grammatically perfect as I can. I'd hate to look like some Neanderthal moron who can't grasp the fact that 'you' has 3 letters.
This. Even in comments and whatnot on sites like Facebook, if I make a spelling error I will post another comment correcting said error.

Always. And I think considerably less of people who don't. Hear that, you lazy twats? Screw you and your lack of self-respect!
