Poll: Do you buy collectors/special editions of games?

Once. My old copy of oblivion was scratched to hell (I slightly tilted the xbox and it chewed it up) so I thought I might as well get the special edition to replace it.

If I really want the trinkets, I'll just look on ebay.
It's a game, for crying out loud.
The bobblehead/concept art book/umbrella doesn't enhance the experience in any way.
That said, I got the Halo 3 with the metal case with my 360. But I didn't pay extra for it.

-Halo 3 Legendary edition with the artwork controller.
-the Alex mercer Figurine (cause i could)
-Oblivions special edition (cause i could)
-Fable 2 collectors edition (cause it was cheaper at launch than the standard.)
-Gears 2 Collectors (new)(cause it was half price and cheaper than a pre owned standard.)
-Halo 2 special edition (cause i loved it)

I also got a special Guitar Hero 4 version that came with a faulty Drum kit. Hoorah!

I try to whenever possible. I love the special boxes and additional stuff. I'm a huge sucker for that kind of thing.

I do like my Wrath of the Lich King: Collector's Edition, though.

I wish I had bought the Fallout 3 special edition. I only have the Limited edition of Gears 2.

If it's a game I'm really looking forward to, then I don't mind at all getting the collector's edition. I do so love my Vault-Tec lunchbox.

Depends. If it's a game I like I'll shell out the extra 10 bucks. Especially if it comes in one of those metal cases because in my house my cases get ruined all the time. Also it usually helps when I got to sell it to someone (not gamestop) if it's a special edition.

I preordered the special edition of Assassin's Creed 2, and I bought the special edition of the Sims 3.

Halo 3 was the first time I bought a special edition. I got the collectors, not the Legendary.

I also got the special edition of Fable 2, and for christmas I got the special edition of Resistance 2 as a present.

I might get the special edition of either Modern Warfare 2 (not presitege) or the special edition of Assassin's Creed 2

And if ODST has a special edition I may get that as well.

And do pre-order special editions count? Because if so I'm adding Far Cry 2 to the list.

I usually do for the cool case, artbooks, or behind the scenes stuff. but i don't really care about items like wristbands, boomerangs, masks, or nightvision goggles. So it really depends what the extras are.

Preordered Assassin's Creed II Limited Edition and Modern Warfare 2 Hardened Edition yesterday. Other than that, I've got Majora's Mask Gold Cartridge and CoD4 Game of the Year Edition.
