I was a really weak and strange kid when I was young. I also had a lot of hobbies that required much more brain power than the average person possesses.
But then I got much bigger, got rid of my acne, and I've also learned a certain aptitude to function in certain social situations, to the point that I may be considered 'charming' on occasion.

However, the nerdy pastimes continue to hold great appeal to me, to the point that I more consider myself a nerd than my appearance or behaviour would suggest.

TL;DR Yes.

Some others off the top of my head:

If your job description says forum administrator...
...you know you're a huge nerd

If you've ever turned your laptop on in a tent...
...you know you're a huge nerd

If you've ever been late to work because of a flamewar...
...you know you're a huge nerd

If you think Ubuntu is too user-friendly...
...you know you're a huge nerd

If you've ever referred to one of your recent blogposts in a real life conversation...
...you know you're a huge nerd

If you're deciding whether you're a nerd or not based on a wikipedia entry...
...you know you're a huge nerd

Hell, if you edit wikipedia...
...you know you're a huge nerd

Gaming may have become mainstream, but metagaming, like browsing and posting on game-forums are still beyond the gaming mainstream and well into nerd domain, anyone who says no are living in denial.
Though i'm willing to agree that nerd doesn't have to be a social awkward dude with no friends who gets extremely nervous when adressed by girls.

Oh yeah. Total nerdery. The weird thing is that none of my friends at the moment are anywhere near as nerdy as me, but no way am I going to compromise my nerdery to fit in better. Loud and proud, baby! Well, they're not nerds in the same way. I'm a video game/anime/comic book nerd. Some of my friends are study nerds, but that's about the extent of it.

No, I touched a boob.
Lol pretty much.

And that response right there adds to my nerdyness...

But using the wiki definition supplied by Max awhile back,

I am the perfect definition of the word nerd. I should be in the dictionary! There would be a picture of me beside the definition =D

Well I have three of those...
Also everyone in Grade 3 (EVERYONE) knows about Runescape. It's if you play it that you know you're stupid. Especially if you have Guild Wars or WOW or Warhammer.

Nerd. It's better than being...normal. Normal people...are boring.
This man speaks the truth.

But yeah, I'm nerdier than most people I know. I'm not a Trekkie or full-blown otaku, but I care less about popular music and sports and more about important things like the internet and video games. I also like math and science more than most of my peers, and am pretty much helpless with music and celebrity things. I'm a pretty big video game and anime fan and am more interweb-savvy than most. Also, I'm one of those mutants among humanity who considers math not arbitrary and boring but the embodiment of harmony, beauty, and meaning in this world, far more meaningful and beautiful than what is taught in English. In all fairness, though, school does a good job of presenting math as stupid and arbitrary busywork, making stupid gimmicks to teach it (like this Agilemind stuff at my school, used it some, didn't learn much of anything, a waste of a few good thursday's), and overall being clumsy and oafish in teaching it.

Sorry for the minirant at the end, just something that really irks me.

Not really a "nerd", more of just a hardcore gamer. In my school people don't define a nerd as someone who games or is really smart, just someone who is socially awkward and tends to be on the ugly or "large" side. So, no, I'm not really a nerd.

No. I may hate sports but I also shun nerdy things like World of Warcraft, StarCraft, and other such nerdy games.

I like military stuff and killing people. And hardcore games. And sims. And hardcore military sim games about killing people. That's the stuff. So no, I'm not a nerd.

Though I do feel somewhat silly getting into heated debates with my friends over the advantages of fielding a heavily armored, highly maneuverable tank with a smaller, faster firing main cannon specifically for urban combat duties. But it's better than debating...something nerdy. Like elves, or trolls or something.

I guess so...yeah why not! I'd rather be intelligent and be insulted for it than be...lets say...intellectually challenged and be praised for it.

GO INTELLIGENCE!

Not really, although I game alot.

(Socializing is kinda hard for me because I live like 20 kilometres away from any sensible people)
(With that I don't mean that I don't have any friends, just that I don't visit them out of school that often)

I post here, and I have a tendency to talk loudly about D&D with my friends. I also play 2nd Edition.

So yes, yes I do.

Yes I am, but I am rather popular with a lot of people, so I guess I'm a sociable nerd.
