I do curse a lot in front of my family, I even routinely say things that would disturb most anyone.

Yeah, sometimes. No point in them getting pissy about it, I am a man now apparently (would be nice to have the facial hair to prove it). I've never really understood the massive fit people go into over swearing.

I do find it very funny when people get fucked off over blaspheming. Had a Politics teacher who would laugh if someone let a 'fuck' slip out, but someone once said 'Jesus Christ' and she was all of a sudden very serious.

I'm Swedish, and unless you say ******, nobody's going to react to you swearing. It's a strange thing you English speaking people have there with your bleeping and blooping over words.

Dra åt helvete
(Dragh ought hellveta)

My mum tried to teach me swedish about 3 years ago. Those are the only words I remember.

Also that six is pronounced as "sex".

If you're ever going to Sweden, then you must learn the most common Swedish cuss phrase "Helvetes jävla skit".

It means "Hell's fucking/devils shit". The "ä" is pronounced like the first "e" in "there" and the "sk" is a more throaty sound.

And yes, six is pronounced as sex here. Funnily enough, sex in Sweden is also called sex here.

I don't swear in general so not swearing in front of my parents is just an extension of that for me.

My dad swears a lot, and is the one who really taught me how to swear, especially how to string insults together to make it more elegant, but I don't follow his example.

My sister swears like a sailor.

This. Swearing is so casual here that most of us do it. Most of our curse words are pretty tame however, being mainly different names for Satan(fan, (d)jävla/r, satan) or shit. We should get some Norse cursing back in our language...

Yeah, found that now I'm older, I can swear in front of my parents, but only in response to something really horrible, like new doctor who.

Hmmm, I swear a lot, it's very integrated in my vocabulary. My parents don't seem to mind though, and I do try to keep it acceptable levels around them.

Note that I wouldn't dare swear AT them though, especially my mom as she would smash my laptop to pieces on my head. I'ts mostly stuff like "Yo ma, you got any lightbulbs around here? The bathrooms' died so I don't see shit." (Or any Dutch equivalent)

I should really work on toning down the swearing less now that I think about it.

I swear less then she does, XD. My siblings swear, I swear, we all swear, no big deal. Of course, we're never swearing directly at each other, mostly just the usual. We're all grown up though, we know what words mean, and we just do it for the hell of it.

I'm in a part of Scotland where if you disbelieve something someone has said, you say "fuck off" so yeah, I swear in front of them, though we tend to not notice it as much as we should, due to swearing being every second word you hear around here.

I tend to cut back swearing on the internet though, and I'm not sure why.

There's no option for swearing in front of one but not the other.

I don't swear in front of my mother, because I'm a good boy. But me and my dad say pretty much any word short of fuck in front of each other with little people.

It's the opposite for me: its my parents that swear like sailors , to the point that I don't like swearing myself.

No not really, which makes it awkward since i'll swear in front of friends.

really the only time i eveer swore in front of a parental figure was my uncle and after I did I woke five minutes later with no real knowledge of why Iwas suddenly on the ground.

I say fuck so much. I go with the Stephen Fry school of thought when it comes to swearing. I'm actually very well spoken.

I don't swear very much, and very very rarely in front of my parents. The only times they hear me swear are when I've just stubbed my toe or hammered my thumb instead of a nail. Swearing just doesn't feel right in general conversation.
