Very rarely.
I easily get hangovers, and I also easily get migraines.
A hangover with a migraine is enough to make you want to kill yourself.

Got totally wasted 2 times in my life. No more, thank you. All it does is make you stupid... Not to mention it tastes like crap. Strangely tho, never had a hangover.

S'more like gauging a person's worth based on the fact that they willingly consume something that causes them to want to break stuff. Stuff that doesn't belong to them.

Not to mention when they take swings at cops that're trying to calm them down.

Occassionally after removing their pants for no good reason.

I probably should have mentioned that earlier, the folks that I know that drink are a bunch of fucking lunatics, the loss of respect comes from when I meet someone new, learn that they drink, ask about them, and find out they're known for engaging in the same illegal acts as the other lunatics in my town after drinking.

So from what I've witnessed in my time on Earth? Drinking = Lanacy = Loss of respect.

Were any of them to prove that they don't go and start engaging in illegal activities after drinking I might respect them some more, but alas, that situation has yet to present itself.
Yeah, that's more reasonable. I have only once broken something whilst drunk and that was an accident that honestly could've happened when sober. Sounds like your mates just get overly drunk, learning your limit is supposed to be a life lesson and I'd frankly expect your friends to calm down in a year or two.

In this case the lack of respect shouldn't come from them drinking alcohol but from them having poor impulse control. Much like everything in life, people need to know when enough drink is enough.
They know their limit.

They just don't care.

Also they aren't my friends, otherwise they'd be massively in-debt with me from constantly borrowing my money in order to 'pay the rent bro!' i.e. Go buy more booze.

I'm leaving this backwater burg first chance I get.

I thought along the same lines,
till I got drunk the first time. Went a bit overboard, but now I realise that the fun is in trying to achieve that perfect state of between tipsy and vomiting. The happy state, :D

Not really, any more. My last birthday left me so ill the next day that I swore off drinking to excess. I had hangover symptoms I'd never even heard of. (Seriously, 6 hours after I got up, my face and hands went numb for over 30 minutes, never come across that symptom before.)

I hate those who judge something without trying it.

You have to get drunk atleast once before you condemn it. I'd suggest 2-3 times because it's rearely the same.
pretty much this. its important to try something, but just remember if you do like it, keep it in moderation.

My dad said: "If you don't smoke and drink at 18 i'll pay your driver's license"
When I turned 18 he said: "If you don't smoke and drink at 20 i'll pay your driver's license"
When I turned 20 he said: "If you don't smoke and drink at 21 i'll pay your driver's license"
At that point I gave him the finger and started drinking and smoking. After drinking about 12 beer a day on average for 5 years I stopped for half a year and now I drink sometimes, altho still at the same speed I did back then. I still smoke about 5 packs of tobacco at 42,5g each a week, but that wasn't the question.

Ive never drank in my life, mostly because im 4 years below the legal age, and because of my religion which forbids alchohol.

Also, i just dont want to drink...

24 in age and the answer is no. Tasted wine, beer, the stuff they serve after eating at a chinese restaurant, champaign and a amateurish vodka-orange juice-mix and to me all of it tasted like various degrees of crap.
Plus, I've seen drunk people in person, be it the kind of slightly drunk who keeps sputtering nonsense to the guy who woke up on the street, having such a big headache he didn't realise how lucky he was that the driver of that car saw him.
And if someone needs that to feel happy or have fun, I consider that pretty damn sad.

So for me, these are two very good reasons to stick with drinks that taste good and leave the state of my consciousness untouched.

Oh and concerning that "Hate those who judge something without trying it":

To quote Pulp Fiction: "Hey, sewer rat may taste like pumpkin pie, but I'd never know 'cause I wouldn't eat the filthy ************."

Well do you? For me I am underage but I have never thought of the idea of drinking a pleasent one. So I sort of made a early vow to never drink any Alcohol and just stick to Soda. I just like to keep sober as being drunk doesn't seem to be good physicaly or mentally.
Hell yeah. Lagers, ales, ciders, single malts, it's all good. Everything in moderation however. I'll drink most nights but rarely get drunk, just a couple of pints after work to unwind and relax with my mates and perhaps crack open a tinnie or two during my midnight deathmatching sessions. There is a world of difference between having a drink and getting drunk, OP - and I would advise you not to knock either until you've tried them. However in the interest of fairness I would also advise you not to part from your convictions just because someone on the interweb said so.

I drink little and often. I used to drink much more when I lived at home and it didn't cost me anything, but I can't afford to have wine in all the time these days.

My parents were very much in the European frame of mind towards alcohol, so I've been drinking it since before I can remember. When I was little, I had a little thimble glass (I think it was for sherry) for wine with meals.

When I got older, the usual underage drinking culture in the UK held absolutely no attraction for me.

I'm in college so... yeah... partying... lots... I usually drink wine at dinner also. I enjoy a good pint from time to time, I just like the taste of some beverages. Getting drunk sometimes is funny as hell, especially if you are the sober one doing the laughing.
