Death = Meh

I think the only reason to fear death is if you believe in God. If you believe Christianity/Islam, then God has such unreasonable standards that we're all going to Hell for one thing or another. I mean, if you believe the scriptures, even your THOUGHTS can get you into Hell. I mean damn! Literally, DAMN!

As for me, I'm an atheist. I figure being dead is just like before you were born. Remember what that was like? Remember it being painful or depressing or happy or joyful? Of course not. It was just nothingness, and after I die I figure it'll go right back to being that. Of course, the only reason I feel this way is because I find life to be generally crap, and zero is always better than a negative number.

Some people find the prospect of no afterlife disturbing, and even terrifying. I figure this is because they're under the mistaken impression that God is going to let them into paradise when they die. Assuming he exists, he's probably going to cast them into the fire just like the rest of us.

I find the 'no afterlife' option most comforting, because not only do I not have to spend an eternity in agony, getting bum-raped by Satan's serrated dick, but I find it comforting to know that what I do with my life won't affect me after I'm dead. I'll be just as insignificant then as I am now, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

i dont fear death in fact i sometimes hope that when im driving something would just take me out

life is one long grinding game we work and work and work just to have some money to sit around and grow old so we can die for what reason?

i believe in reason and want reason and there is no reason to live but i will not take my life because maybe that reason will come to me one of these days

I'm more frustrated towards death rather than fearing of it. So much stuff to and the opportunities that are offered. Gone. Then there's the matter of what will happen after wards or even if it happens.
So, yeah. Not fearing but still dislikes death.

I'm a Christian. I have nothing to fear in death.
This seems relevant:

Death is part of the human condition. To ignore it is to ignore part of what makes us human.

I do not fear death since I know it won't really do me any good. However, I'm not exactly excited to die either.

All right, this has been done before but it got about 35 posts and it was awhile back, so I'm doing this thread. Are you afriad that your life will end soon? Personally, I would choose "Kinda" mostly because I believe life has no meaning, but death could be a dark void for all eternity. So I fear that niggling doubt that it isn't a happy place of sunshine and... Kittens... and that it's a dark void to float in forever. Also, everything you had in life it gone, your relationships, possessions, the simple joys of living, gone. I want this to be answered with this thought in mind, death can happen at any time, tomorrow, the next hour, a week from now. Just keep that in mind while answering, no need to lie here.

Edit: Alright, it's come to my attention that some people are more sad to die then scared of it... I really find it interchangeable, but I added a new option for that.
Not afraid of death, but i'll be hellas depressed. I want to accomplish everything I can in the time I have, mind you if I found out I had a month or so to live then I'd be pushed to make shit happen.

Considering I work in a job I hate to pay for things I don't need...

I don't fear death, I am already dead inside.

Yes, yes I do. Death is one of the great unknowns that has plagued humanity forever. Humans fear the unknown and I am human, therefor, I fear death.

I know that there is no escape from death and in some way I have accepted that I will one day die. That does not mean that I do not fear death.
I think that only a fool would say he does not fear death. The reason is that if he does not have any fear for it, then he dosen't know fear at all, since all fears leads to death. And only fools think themselves free of fear.
In case one is wondering why I have accepted what I fear I answer this: Do not the knowlegde of ultimate death just make you want to live your life? To live at least as long as ones life actually last?
the fear of death is one of the reasons for living!

Nope. Accepting death has been one of the best things I have ever done. It's made life much easier to live, especially being able to understand the true pointlessness and insignificance of it all. I don't feel like there's any big ending that I'm living up to or anything like that. One day, it will all end and the only thing that matters is whether or not I enjoyed it.

/end tangent.

I do not fear death itself, I think it'll be quite cool to see what is on the other side.
What I do fear, though, is leaving my friends and family.

i find it fascinating. though i love my life and am not in a hurry to leave it, i do really wanna see what comes after. I've always had a fascination with the paranormal and afterlife....

Anyway, i do fear certain types of dying. In particular, death by fire.
