I'm not the one to shout it to the world, but I'm usually not too sensitive about who knows my gaming habit... Unless that person molds my future.
I'm in a bit of a bind right now. You can say you play sports, you can say you love movies, but if you say you play video games, it seems that you have no life. Why is this?

They only say that because they know that we are superior, their generic insults are their way of trying to bring us down to their level.

I'm going to say Yes, but only because Yes can mean sometimes, and no means no

I'm only ever embarrassed when I'm called out over it, and made to feel embarrassed. It's hard not to be when someone's ragging on you about wasting your life.

I would only play down the fact that I'm a gamer if I was in the presence of intelligent, yet curvacious women and at job/university interviews.

Not in the least. Anyone who thinks I'm lame for having fun is obviously an utterly pathetic soulless husk of a person, who isn't worth listening to for a second.

Usually not, except for job interviews etc. Last year at vocational school I told a girl that on some days I spend three or more hours at the computer, gaming, surfing the net and so on. She was quite schocked and wouldn´t believe me. Quite ridicolous if you ask me, if I told her I´d watch TV every day she would have said, yeah me too. I almost never watch TV. But noone cares about that. Computers are evil :( Hopefully I´ll meet more pc-friendly guys when I go to university next month.

I don't really play up the fact (I don't have any gaming t-shirts or anything), but anyone who talks to me for more than a minute will probably figure it out from the terms they don't understand ("What's a tier?" "What's a 'sappin'?'") and the references that go straight over their head.

So no.

I just don't mention it. If no one asks, no one will get answers!

Although, at one point, if someone had trouble playing Pokemon, they came to me.

Also, if you understand how Rugby League works (I support Wests), no one suspects you.

I'm not embarrassed, I just find that games are a harder topic to socialise with.

Your asking a bunch of people, some who have the maturity level of at third grader, if they feel bad for gaming? I would have to say though that video games at the only thing I am not completely cynical about. So I do feel a bit bad when I am pulled into hype. (See Army of Two).

Intelligent AND curvaceous? Are you working on a new breed?

Sorry, just had to come up with a snide remark.

Hope it didn't offend.

Not at all. You should never be ashamed of your hobbies, no matter how stupid others think they are.
