Nahh, I'm fairly skinny and probably weigh less than the averageguy my age. The stereo type I fit best is the lazy part. I'm really lazy =w=
I'm a bit chubby,and i'm VERY negative and a little mysanthropic...so kinda?
But i'm not even a huge fan of video games anymore so it gets iffy.

I'm not depressed so much as paralyzed by hope, and I'm only anti-social because I live in rural Texas and it's hard to not hate society out here...

I am a national level sportsman, have a hot girlfriend and do well at school.
Although i am not all that social... and prefer to play games instead.
Could be because my mental age is far beyond my physical and thus i think most people my age are disgustingly immature little fucks.

I just want to know... which gamer stereotype are we looking at here? the "study's" version of a gamer or that gamers play video games with all they're spare time, or maybe the 'I play games so I'm a gamer right?'. I'm one of the ones who really enjoys playing games but it's not my life.
Gamer stereotypes around gamers are usually addressed as "Them", them never being absoloutely defined and therefore addresses and belittles a group of beings who probably don't exist, that or singular characteristics that exist in extremely minute amounts spread across thousands of individuals. Such as saying "All gamers listen to KORN and have red hair." There are Gamers who listen to KORN, and Gamers who have red hair. But the stereotype exampled, is a very minute group probably, and with many generalizations comes many a digit in how small the percentage those generalizations actually fit in real life.
im willing to say no but then i hate stereotypes so my opinion doesn't really count on the matter
I love all of the people posting; "Im a little over weight but not fat".
It reminds me of the Southpark episode where Cartman is on the weight game 5000;
"Im not fat, Im getting in shape... BEEFCAKE!!"
Having said that I weighed myself ready for an upcoming BJJ tournament (The Bristol Open, see you there) and found out I'd moved up a weight catagory to 80kg... Must be the weight training...
When I posted a pic on the escapist I was told I looked too "normal" to be here. I don't know if thats a good thing or bad.

No. And that thing is wrong, and a stupid generalisation, amking everyone believe that everyone who plays games are that, rather than the ones that already are fat or just idiots.
I'm an avid gym goer, well built with a typical athletes small waist and wide shoulders. I play Rugby for my university, Cheer lead at a national level and have no problem in social situations.
at Uni I go out a couple of times a week and game maybe 2 or 3 hours a week.
If you can find a stereotype to put me in I would be very impressed. British Cheerleading and rugby union tend not to mix very often

So... kinda. People are surprised when they hear I play video games though. I guess nobody thinks a girl loves to blow the heads off zombies. *shrugs* What can ya do? Most guys seem turned on by it though... weird.
