Gave it for my 4th time on the 7th (of June). Must have some really high blood pressure because they got a pint in a little under 5 minutes. Either that or I just have a hell of a lot of blood.

I kind of want to, but I've never really had the opportunity (read: not been in a rush while sitting on the train that goes by the local blood donation clinic). I don't even know what blood type I am.

With my luck, I'm probably AB+ anyways. :S

I have -O and great veins, I really should do it.

I'm still dealing with a phobia of needles, and I get faint really easily from having blood drawn for even some lab tests.

I know its prolly no harm in the situation of blood donation, but I really, really don't like the idea of going unconscious in public. I already have had a narcolepsy scare, and I just am deeply uncomfortable with the very notion.

Nope. I have AB- blood, which is apparently useless to anyone who isn't also AB, thus making the demand for it rather low apparently. Or that's how I understood it anyway after someone went through a lengthy explanation of the whole blood type thing that really just left me somewhat confused on the subject.

No, because I am a wimp. I hate getting needles stuck in me, especially the larger ones they need for blood and IVs.

Nope, not even sure if i'm alowed to. I have a very light case of hemophilia, so i'm pretty sure you don't want my blood.

You should still donate,
in fact it's more important for you to donate as your blood type is so rare.

That means it will be harder to get the blood for someone who needs that specific blood type.

Anyway,
I myself have given blood and I'm going to keep doing it as much as I can.

Apparently only 4% of the UK population give blood, which I think is pathetic.

EDIT: Unless you genuinely can't donate blood due to medical problems etc.

From the UK and no I don't on principle because of the exclusion of gay men from giving blood. I'm not gay myself but the fact that homosexuals aren't allowed to give blood, seemingly because of a horrifically old stereotype that gay people are more likely to spread blood-borne diseases is something I find quite abhorrent.

I'm not allowed to just yet due to age, but will once I can. I have 0-, so I feel obligated to.

I can't give blood at the moment. I signed up for a blood drive at my college, and the nurse who gave me the form looked me up and down and asked me my weight. Apparently I'm underweight, and would have to gain about 12-14 lbs before they'll take my blood.

Maybe it makes me kind of an asshole, but I don't want to have to gain that much weight just to donate some blood.

I would, but I'm not old enough to do so! Just six more months and I most probably will.

I can't until November because I just stepped inside the Malaria Chance Zone for a day in my recent trip to South Africa. I plan to once that time's up though.

I've done it a few times, mostly when I was in the army to get out of PT v: I have O-, so I should probably start again.

I want to, but I weigh too little. For my height, I would be overweight at 135 pounds, which is also the minimum weight for my giving blood. I find it silly that I can only give blood if I am at an "unhealthy" weight, but those are the rules.

I can't, something to do with being a lightweight and having had a number of transfusions beforehand.

Nah, no health issues whatsoever, so I don't have any medical reason not to. Hadn't considered the thing about rarity, that's an interesting point. Will stop in next time I see one of them Red Cross booths, not like I can't make more of the stuff so to speak.
