Buckeley, to my knowledge is beyond a bag of douche, he is a supermarket that sells bags of douche.
The comic itself is decent. There are much better webcomics, and it's been on a downward slope with its semiserious sitcom plots, but it manages to still be pretty okay to read.

Na, don't hate it. But i stopped reading it... hm more than a year ago, i think.

Ah i remember that "Bigger than Cheeses" ridiculed his "miscarriage"-panel for like... twenty strips in a row, or more. Was funny (if DARK as BLACK and pretty mean), the first few times... but holy crap.

Also Wintereenmas was pretty nice. Just a good excuse for a LAN-Party in the new year.

I enjoyed it for years. Then, gradually, I realised that something had changed and I was only reading out of habit. At this point, I deleted it from my bookmarks with a minimum of fuss. I didn't immediately sign up to the forums and begin bitching, didn't email Tim and complain, didn't go looking for people condemning it. So no, I don't hate it. I just don't like it.

I'm sure the parodies are still good at times, though.

Yes, since it became void of any gaming humour around 2007/8. It was never brilliant, but a decent read. Now it's just tiresome and unfunny, with actual gaming comedy once in a blue moon.

Liked it way back in the day when it was about being silly and no real point to it. Now its just garbage with poor story arcs and virtually no humor left. Hate is too strong of a word but it was the only negative option so... *shrug*

I used to read it infrequently before the 'miscarriage incident.' After that...I stopped, never looked back. If it was ever mildly funny at any point, it stopped permanently after the miscarriage arc.

Soon after, I started hearing all these nasty rumors about Tim Buckley- and let's just say the rumors of plagiarism and rampant egoism are the nicer ones- that started to surface after the miscarriage thing, and in retrospect, I'm kind of glad I stopped reading it.

The fact that, looking back, I honestly think it's a poor man's Penny Arcade rip-off didn't help either.

Oh boy, mod bait. Just the flavor for a Friday on the Escapist.

Bad form aside with the whole "do you hate" thing, it's not the comic I hate ("hate" is too strong a word. I just think it isn't funny), it's that self-absorbed wannabe-cool asswipe Buckley who writes it.

It's not funny.

Though, neither is the one on the Escapist. Actually, the one here is even less funny than the crap that Buckley makes.

Even if I hated everything about it, I would still respect it. The writing and storytelling is top notch.

Which makes me glad I love it.

I hate the comics now, after the miscarrage storyline I think he just lost the plot completely. Some of the parodies were fun, but like you said, they're too much wall of text. The only thing he's done that I liked was the choose your own adventure style comics.

Much as I love ol' Croshaw, the idea is to listen to the humour, and decide your opinions for yourself. Otherwise I'd only own one game.

OT: I love CAD. Funny stuff.

Considering that I used to read it pretty avidly, no I do not. Granted, I got bored with it and realize that Buckley's quite egotistical (to put it softly), but I feel no real malice against the comic.

Besides, as NeutralDrow said, it gave us the newb vs. noob comic, which is rather helpful.

By default I dislike webcomics. There are a few exceptions, like the brilliant Perry Bible Fellowship, but usually the jokes in most webcomics are just plain bad. CAD is no exception, but it is only fractionally worse than the ever-popular XKCD.

I can see how the plot can get a bit tedious but it is also that he started that storyline and it just sunk Tim in it. He couldn't have just stopped it in the middle.

Yes and no, I like some of his storylines and the art work but alot just seem to trying to keep in the gamer trend, and as such just seem forced humour like 'LOOK WHAT I DREW IS'NT IT A FUNNY COMIC WITH A GREAT JOKE?! HAR HAR HAR!' and it's just not as funny as say Penny Arcade or Console Hopping.
