Was married once upon a time. Not anymore (as in "she just left me last week"). Now back in the damned dating scene.

Yeppers. She is an archaeology major with the proportions of Lara Croft. How I manage to call her "Jiggle physics" without getting slapped I will never know.

So, I'm going to act like I haven't seen this thread before. The obvious answer in these threads is to link to this [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.85690], which explains in some detail why I don't have a girlfriend; I'm interested in some things which almost no girl will touch.

However, the story goes slightly deeper, and my inherent frigidity has to be taken into consideration, along with a lack of understanding of love, and a subsequent internal thought processes that notches it up to being a form of obsession, which disturbs me, and more recently, comes close to frightening me. The more terrifying concept comes when I wonder if somebody is attracted to me - the thought is deeply unsettling, as I feel that one would have to be frighteningly obsessive (and thus, mentally ill) to fall in love with me.
RAK, I see right through your transparent attempt to ensure that all the nerdy girls want to jump your bones. You can't fool us here.

As an aside, if we broke the poll results down by gender, what percentage of the guys have girlfriends/wives vs. girls with boyfriends/husbands? I suspect that an Escapist singles meetup would be a sausage fest even by the standards of the already male-dominated demographics of these forums.

Well of course. There's a reason guys are the ones who buy the drinks.
