Trust me: at the end of the day, girls aren't worth it. They are all just attracted to jerks and assholes. The only way for a nice guy to get a girl is after she has been hurt by said jerk and asshole bad enough for her to realize he is a jerk and/or asshole - nice guys will always be the second choice.

I met a guy at dance, who spent the entire time checking out all the girls, and we got to talking. He told me he had a girlfriend, but she wasn't as hot as some of the girls there. He told me he has had sex eleven times (he is sixteen), and when I called bullshit, he pulls out a phone and shows me a picture of a naked girl with her head out of frame and says that is his ex-girlfriend.

Other instance: my best friend has a girlfriend, and we got to talking. I asked if they were serious and he said no, and he would probably break up with her once he found someone better. I asked if she was aware of this, and he said no. I pointed out he shouldn't lead her on, and he said he was already doing it so why stop.

So tell me... what is the point of trying to find a girlfriend if girls just keep going after the jerks and assholes, and leaving the nice guys as their back ups?
I'm going to raid this thread, pick out all the relationship problems I can find and answer them in the Relationship Problem thread. Here's the first one - answered at the following link: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.117161-Relationship-problem-thread?page=29#5516746

Title says it all, just wondering.

I'm going to ask "someone" to be my girlfriend tomorrow, just before going into vacations for two weeks.

Anyway, I think title says it all. I thought it would be a rather interesting question to make to the Escapists.

EDIT: During those two weeks yes, I'm able to see her, as I'm not going to another place to pass the time, and she doesn't lives very far. I though I should have made that more clear.
Let me know how this goes, if there are issues remember that the Relationship Problem thread exists ----> http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.117161-Relationship-problem-thread?page=1

To answer your question I'm single right now. I have started seeing a girl as friends very recently though and she knows I want to take it further than that, but we're still in the "getting to know each other" phase. We'll see how it goes.

well I long since stopped actually trying to get one.

It'll happen when it's meant to happen simple as that, in the mean time I'm gonna be myself as much as possible, I'm only 20 so there's still time left before I start becoming a ronery depressed humanity hating cave dwelling...thing.

Yes, we've been together for 2 months now. She is extremely similar to me, so we get along just fine. :D

I've just turned 14, and things are really awkward with a girl i really like. Any advice on making things less awkward?

You must be like water.

No, seriously. Shut up, stop trying to be the unique and beautiful little snowflake. If you really do feel that way about her be upfront. Worst thing that can happen is that she says no. If that's really so devastating for you its entirely possible that you're not ready. Do not go for the "be friends first, then take it further" approach. It can work, but typically that just leaves room for someone else to swoop in.

Remember- nice guys finish last here. Don't be the honorable gentleman. Most women understand that they have their pick of men. Its really easy for them to figure out who likes them enough but doesn't have the balls to ask them out.

Me personally? Never had. It's more a matter of me generally being disinterested in women. In high school literally none of them really interested me. The staggering majority were either already taken in one form or another, or more interested in how they could show off daddy's pay check if you catch my drift. I wasn't interested in playing their social games so I never tried.
