I have two. I used to have one that accepted two simm cards. Broke it and never really liked it much in the first place. Now I have simple basic one that is used only as a work phone, and I have my personal phone.

I tried combining them at first, but I had to answer every number I didn't recognize as if it was a work call. I don't like doing that. It's works out better this way, and for not much more a month.

There are people without mobiles? I haven't been without one longer than a day in around 7 years.
Aside from getting deployed, and a few other times where it would make no sense to have one it's been 12 years since I got my first cell phone. A Motorola StarTac. I can't really remember every phone since then, but I sure as hell remember that one.

I have a smart phone (Palm pre (Sprint)) that I only use for the "smart" part. I hate using cellphones as phones and I especially hate text messaging. But I love Internet and Pandora.

Yes, but I only use it to call people. I don't text people with it.
I'm the opposite. It's very rare I call someone and they usually don't answer anyway, but I send many many texts.

It's my only phone. Nothing fancy, just a reliable pre-paid flip. I text a lot. (Get unlimited quantities) Talk on it occasionally, too. Usually, during weekends when the minutes are free.

Yes, because its cheaper then a a home phone for what i do with it.

I have the cheapest plan i can get pretty much with unlimited talk and text to my wife and parents. I pay around $40 a month.

The cheapest i could get for a home phone is $80.

I use my phone incredibly rarely outside of to my wife and parents soooooo....

Yes, I do.

Normally, kids need to beg their parents for weeks on end to tell them how "Mature" they are, or how much they "Need" a Cell Phone, or at least need to ask for one. One day, my parents just walked up to me and handed me my first cell phone. I just shrugged and accepted it. Since then, I've gotten 2 phone upgrades at random intervals, again, without even needing to ask.

I live in isolation so internet or mobile phone otherwise I can't contact my friends
Same here. I live twenty minutes away from town, if I didn't have a phone I would never get to talk to any of my friends ever, then I would never see them, then I would go mad from hearing my own lonely voice echo in my head constantly.
And I don't want that happening again.......

I have one but i don't use or even acknowledge it (i answered no on the poll). Never saw the need for one, I'm not paying money i don't have to contact people. The few people that i do contact i can talk to over MSN.

Never really understood how some people say they couldn't live without one, some of these people aren't exactly short of other forms of communication.

Yep. Got my first phone about 2 years after everyone else I knew, plus I had to pay for it (my friends' parents paid for theirs...), but I did have one. It was what I would describe as a "high quality piece of junk". Not bad, certainly not the worst phone, but it was still in the lower range.

Now I have a Droid Incredible. I like it.

I think a better question would be, "Do you still have a landline?" All my friends have mobiles and only mobiles.

I don't =( Because in France they make you pay ridiculous amounts of money for a contract every month (thanks to the monopolization of Orange) and make sure you can't buy pay-as-you-go as they put an expiry date on your card. That's right, if you buy a £5 pay-as-you-go-card and don't spend it ALL in 2 weeks, it expires and you lose your money. Add to that the fact that we (my family) are rather poor and can hardly pay for my guitar lessons as it is...No, I don't have one.

I used to though.

Yeah I have 3. People always text me about meaningless shit and I really can't talk over a phone so I just have them on silent most of the time. The only time I actively use them is for work or school

I has one. Shitty little Samsung that's served me well. Battery'll live for maybe 12 hours of phone calls.
I only call one person <_<

I don't know what I'd do without one, tbh. It's very useful.

I've got a Nokia 5800 which overall is a very good phone, but mine has got some problems, mainly that if it gets a little nudge, it turns itself off.
The good thing about the phone though is it's insane battery life, I have gone almost 2 weeks without charging it. Provided that I turn it off when I sleep most times. [SUB]My friends likes to wake me up for teh lulz by calling me in the middle of the night.[/SUB]

I'm going to get an HTC Desire later though.
That phone is truly the king of phones.
