I don't have a pet, unfortunately, but if I did you can bet I wouldn't let it leave my sight. I'm very protective of small, furry creatures.

My cat, Beep, likes to walk across my keyboard and she'll sit on my MacBook when I set it down on the floor. If she thinks I'm not paying her enough attention she'll try to meow, though she can't meow properly - hence the name Beep.

Our other cat, Boodle, will curl up in my lap and fall asleep whilst I play.

My cats are too busy lying on their backs in the middle of the floor to sit with me.

There is my landlords cat around, she is nice and cute but if I let her in she will sit on my laptop keyboard because its warm. So I cant have her around.

Do stuffed animals count? Because I've got a little stuffed beaver who sits on my shoulder when I'm gaming, which is a silly little tradition that goes back to when my girlfriend at the time gave him to me as a 23rd birthday present...in 2000. The girl and I broke up in 2003, but the stuffed animal lives on as my mascot.

(except during a brief and glorious time between 2006-07 when the rat you see in my avatar picture occupied the shoulder-gaming place of honor. RIP Buster, old buddy.)

If I am just hanging out in the living room browsing on my laptop there is usually a cat nearby. Right this very moment there is a lovely tortie popping wheelies at me and meowing because she wants another scruffle. I will stop and play with her in a moment and be happy that as a former rescue animal who was afraid of being touched by people she will now show tummy fur and wriggle about on the carpet in joy.

Animals are nice to have around (and with few exception, I prefer them to people anyway).

Yes. My kitty, Zebedee (pictured, left) sits on my monitor. And because one of our cats recently had kittens, I have one on my lap.

Yep. Usually my cat tires to lay in my lap, or in between my legs when I'm doing anything on the laptop. That, or she sits next to me, with her back turned to me, and stares to the other end of the room, as if she thinks she's guarding me or something. I think she has dementia in her old age. lol

Back when I had a desktop, I usually had to shoo one of my 2 cats away from the top of the case all the time. The other one liked to rest on the top of my old monitor, but after I got a flat screen, that wasn't possible.

Now that I have a laptop, one of them likes to sit on my lap and attack the keyboard, since it has flashing lights. The other one just hangs around on a nearby chair, and will frequently come over and demand attention by jumping up on my lap and standing on my chest.

Enjoy? I can't really stop them, they're cats, they do whatever the fuck they want. And they always want to sit on my lap. Doesn't help my gaming :p

I'm currently trying to keep my cat from side-swiping my monitor, so yes.

He's a complete suck, though.

Usually my cat leaves me alone, but if she wants something she'll follow these three steps.

1: Stare at me and meow every now and again.

2:Start wondering around my legs being very distracting, and meowing more frequently and louder.

3:Sit in front of the monitor so I can't see what I'm doing and staying in that spot with determination stronger than any I've seen, be it animal or human.

Then I find out what she wants.
Sometimes food, usually just a tummy-rub.
