Well, guys? Do you?

Personally, no I dont. This is not because I dislike pets though, its because my home is very small for a pet, but hmm....now that I think about it I can probably get my hands on a rabbit in cage or something. Sounds like a good idea. I'd probably do that sometime.

So guys. Anyway. Do you guys have a pet, or would like to have one sometime?

I have a cute little bunny rabbit named Spoddy. He's ... 10 years old now, I think. Nine or ten, anyway. Anyway, he's really cute and stuff.

No although I would love one. I would prefer a dog but a cat would serve. The problem is I live in my parents house and since the death [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.312228-Farewell-A-thread-about-pet-deaths-and-the-celebration-of-life] of my childhood dog they haven't wanted another. Cats are not possible due to my Dad's violent allergies.

I have considered a ferret. I dunno. It would certainly add to my things to take care of.

No, I grew up with many dogs. We always had at least 4, sometimes 5 or 6 and we bred them from time to time as well. However, I haven't had a pet since I moved out of my parent's house.
The primary reason is space, cost, and also I work a lot and wouldn't be able to give the animal the attention it deserves. If not for all those factors, I would probably have another dog.

I like both cats and dogs, probably prefer cats since they are not so needy with attention. Luckily my family and friends have enough pets that I get the full benefits of a pet without the cleanup or the cost. Most mammals (notice not animals, insects hate me) like me for some reason other than horses and.....

(sees the rabbit, right eye starts twitching) kill it with fire!

No but in all seriousness that is a cute rabbit. I do find rabbits to be cute, I just had a bad incident with one that makes me a little bit afraid of them now, especially if they get near my face. When I was a kid I visited my aunts farm and they had a bunch of pet rabbits. My cousin was trying to give one of the rabbits to me. Right before the handoff, the rabbit lifts one leg high up in the air and slams it down my face across my right eye like a kungfu master (course this might just be how i imagined it after all of these years). Nearly took out my right eye, although he did slash deeply into the rest of my face. I lost enough blood to actually get a bit wozy by the time i made it to the farm house (keep in mind i was 7..or 8...somewhere around there). I did get the nickname "scarface" out of it, so it was not a total loss....certainly beats my other nicknames.....

Marter. Is rabbit is a good pet? I plan on getting a rabbit soon, but there are some things I dont understand yet. Does it have to be in a cage, or I can let it wander around the house freely? Would it run away then? WOuld it pee and poop all over my house then?

I wonder if you took it out of a cage just to photograph it or its always free to wander like that eh?

Depends on how much effort you want to put into it. They can be house trained like a dog or cat, but you have to, y'know, put the effort in. Mine stays in a cage as a result. Even if you do train it to do its business in a certain area, you still have to move/protect the electrical cords, because they'll get chewed right through.

Grew up on a farm and my mom is a big animal person so I've always had a wide variety of animals around. I don't think we ever had fewer than 6 or 7 dogs in the house, plus all the other wildlife roaming the estate.

I won't bore everyone with bucketloads of pics but I will post one of my faithful hound Maximus Prime and his couch -

I'm what you would call a crazy cat lady with 6 cats. I love cats for being low maintenance, half of mine are outdoor cats I tamed and they take care of themselves for the most part. My three inside cats are loved so much it's borderline torture so they are the most tolerant friendly cats ever.

I also have 2 rats who bully my cats since my inside cats are such pushovers. It was funny when I brought in an outside cat (he got in a fight and was injured) because they were terrified of him, they knew the difference between a scardy-cat and a hunter.

Hah! I'm the only person so far who voted "I don't like pets."

I love animals with an intensity I cannot express in words, but I'd rather keep them at a distance. It's better for everyone that way.

I simply don't have the time or space for a pet. Every once in a while I start considering it again for a while, before I decide I like my freetime too much.

Yeah, I got a Ragdoll cat. Breeded for absolute cuteness, which makes up for her shitty "personality".

I have 1 dog ATM, and semi-own 1 cat [Its our cat, we let my Nanna take care of it though 'cause we went to Europe a good 17 years back and couldn't take care of it while we were away, and never got around to bringing it back home].

Have had a lot of pets though...

First ones were a good 40 or so fish. The 3 largest fish ate all the others, then birds somehow managed to eat them. Happy endings for everyone.
Second one was aforementioned cat who is now 18 years old or so. Somehow still alive. Don't know how, but he is.
Third was a different cat. Last year he was bitten by a snake and died while I was at work. He's currently buried in our backyard.
Fourth was a set of two rabbits, that bred and we kept one of their children and sold the other 80 or so to local petshops. 3 years back they were bitten by a redback spider and died. Buried in our backyard also.
Fifth is the dog. Only got it a couple of years back, and its healthy enough ATM, thankfully.

Have taken care of other peoples pets consistently as they've gone away or such, but only owned 5 sets of pets ourselves. 3 sets of which are now dead. None of natural causes. Got a good track record going here.

I got a ferret after my cat died. She is lovely, and certainly gives more than takes, but given how many people who aren't prepared to furnish their house to fit for a ferret have issues with them, it depends on your life-style, I guess.

She sleeps the night, wakes me up in the morning, sleeps the day when I'm away, and wakes up at the evening again.

I also have a milksnake, 8 tarantulas and other invertebrates.

How is her personality shitty? I recall hearing ragdolls were social and needed attention.

I don't have a pet at the moment, because of an allergic family member. Can't have anything furry inside the house. We did have bunnies in the past, but both of them died :(.

I absolutely love cats though! I want to get a cat as soon as I move out. Preferably a Norwegian Forest Cat. A friend of mine has one and I think they're absolutely beautiful animals.

I have a black female cat named Seleukia (named after the ancient capital of the Seleucid Empire). I've always been a cat person, and it has been rare in my life not to have a pet cat. My mother (who I live with) owns three small dogs as well (no idea what kind of breed they are, not really a fan of dogs), so I suppose you can count them too.
