My best friend is gay, but he's not gay about it---if that makes sense.

I can't stand the ones who prance about and act down to the stereotype. My friend Mike is a badass and a man's man who just happens to like having sex with dudes, which is why I respect him and would stand and fight with him if a bunch of "gay bashers" were to start something.
Gay but not camp?. Is that what your trying to say?. Or gay but doesn't make constant references to the fact that he's gay and just treats it as normal?.
Pretty much. Basically, he's a regular guy who just happens to have sex with men. Only time he ever gets political about it, it's for a good reason (like, say, the right to marry for his particular sexual orientation.)

I'm convinced that if more folks like him had been in California making reasoned arguments instead of holding Poncy Flaming Gay People Parades, Prop 8 wouldn't have passed.

Well, my dad's gay... So his boyfriend kind of counts as a friend.
wait, your dad's gay?How the hell are you alive?
There is a little thing called adoption.

And another called "AI: Artificial Insemination"
My brain locked down at "AI: Artificial," and I couldn't help but think "Aby is a robot?!" ...Y'know, I think I'll just stay in that mindset. More entertaining.

OT: I know a few, but not too well. Don't really hang out with them much.

Yes. I have some friends who are bisexual and gay. I treat them like anyone else. In fact, sometimes I forget that they are gay.

I have like, six or seven bisexual/lesbian friends, and they are the nicest girls I know.

Also, I think I sense a little discrimination OP. Hmmm?

I imagine so... I don't think getting in the streets and acting like prats is going to solve the problem. However I guess that's for another discussion. I will say that your mate pretty much fits the description of all the homosexuals I've met. Seems quite a lot of gay people act absolutely no different from most straight people. Also (from personal experience)they don't tend to try and pick up straight men that aren't interested... Which is another subject the media likes to have a good laugh with.

Also worth noting that the few people I've met who acted like a stereotypical homosexual (pretty much camp) turned out to be straight... Things you learn.

My last girlfriend was bi. It got a little weird from time to time. (mostly when we were checking out the same girl. awkward.)

I'm the only straight man out of 6 at my workplace.

It wasn't flame bait. I honestly don't see the point of pride parades in countries where we enjoy the exact same rights. It just seems wrong to be proud of being different in a place where you've striven to be seen as people all the same.
Have you ever had your ass kicked because you're straight? No? Equal rights under law and equality in society are different things.

One of my friends from grade school is gay. He's pretty cool. I still think it's kind of funny when he hits on me. I don't really mind, it's just how he is. I'm also dating a girl who's bi right now. Real classy lady, that one. It's a shame her parents would never accept her if she told them. Just one more reason why I hate outdated religious beliefs.

Not friends, but I think one member of my extended family's gay, if that counts for anything.
