They think it's genetic, but no one is really sure of the exact cause. As of now, genetic makes that most sense.

Second, I have Asperger's Syndrome. I was diagnosed at age six.
ok, i AM talking with no evidence here, but i would have thought that a quick glance of a few people with aspergers' medical records would confirm that, it isnt hard. patient has aspergers - patients M parent ALSO has aspergers. repeat a few dozen times and youd get your answer

Only about 1 in about 75,000 people have aspergas syndrome (I have it, looked online)
i find that quite hard to believe, there are at least 15 people who attend my youth club for people with aspergers, by your logic, some of them would have to travel miles to reach the location, plus it was originally discovered because a number of the children in Mr Charles Aspergers' study were affected, while I dont know how many it would only take a few affected for, statistically speaking, him to have to have one hell of a group of kids

I voted no. As far as I am aware, I do not have it. But I do show many of the characteristics of having it in a mild/medium form, so it's still possible.

For now, it's a no though.

Yeah I have it. I was diagnosed when I was about 10. The thing is I don't even realise that I do have it, nor do I display any of the symptoms of it.

So I guess I only have it in a small percent.

(If that makes sense.)

aspergers syndrome is a form of dyslexia
Dyslexia? I think you mean Autism. It's one of the named conditions on the Autism Spectrum, alongside classical autism, high-functioning autism, Rett syndrome, and the misc. category of PDD-NOS*. I've never read of any connection with dyslexia. I was clinically diagnosed when I was 19 and two years into college, though I was diagnosed with Autism at the age of 4 and reasonably suspect I've been dealing with the condition my entire life. My personal situation is not of a typically severe level: I am reasonably equipped to socialize with people under lax or professional circumstances, although I quickly tire of conversations with strangers and have compulsive tendencies to avoid socializing. For instance, when someone first looks at me and makes eye contact I have to concentrate all of my focus in order to not look away from them at first glance - after that, I am fine. I also get frustrated when pulled away from very engrossing proceedings (especially video games) and if I am in a room with a TV, movie or video game playing in the background, I have trouble keeping my attention away from it rather than the conversation happening right before me. Asperger's isn't impossible to live with, and if you have difficulty communicating or coexisting with someone who has Asperger's you must keep in mind that you'll generally have to connect with them on their own terms - for some it is nearly impossible to engage in meaningful two-way exchange, but by relating to their interests and engaging in their preferred activities it's possible to connect with those you care about who suffer more severe manifestations of AS.

*PDD-NOS = Pervasive Developmental Disorder Not Otherwise Specified - hence the miscellanea label.

I don't, but have a few friends that do, ranging from very mild to borderline autism.

Unless a doctor has diagnosed you then do not claim you have Aspergers. honestly some people who claim to have it are just dicks.

Do I have it? I dunno I have not been diagnosed but when sitting in front of a monitor we all have it to some extent.

I've been diagnosed with it several times, starting in elementary school. I used to take medication for it, but I got off that years ago now and I'm able to function normally academically and socially (although I still don't actually get along with most people).

Yeah, I got it. My "normal" friends are more out of society than me, so I don't really consider it a syndrome my self.

I don't have it.
You should really include "Don't have it M" and "Don't have it F" if you want to really gauge the Male to Female ratio. We have no idea how many females have contributed to this thread, so having a male or female option for each one of the choices is ideal.

I definitely exhibit symptoms, and I was tested for it back in grade 7, but I don't have it.

Nobody has Aspberger's anymore. DSM V just includes the symptoms under the Autistic Spectrum. Enjoy not being special anymore, Aspies.
