Actually, I only smoked for a couple of months...and not heavily. just a phase. At that point I was halfway stable...although I didn't know at the time how much worse it could get. My body has the unfortunate habit of developing allergies, the most inconvenient one being to all forms of oral steroids. The only way to get them into me is via IV. Meanwhile my skin, tissues and organs have all been compromised by earlier treatments, so I had to have a Port-a-cath surgically inserted in my upper chest, just below my collarbone. Fun times.
My main task these days is staying out of the hospital. So far this year I've been in for 4 weeks. Thank heavens for Torchlight...kept me busy.
